Been looking for a bike for my son. Not into the cheap Toys-R-Us crap, so was hoping to get him a real bike.
Well... I found it yesterday! Leaving breakfast Sunday morning, we were leaving the parking lot and I drove past the GoodWill store, and I found THIS!
Specialized RockHopper with Ritchie wheels (26"), Shimano Trigger shifters, and otherwise a bunch of nice components. A little dirty, but will clean up VERY nicely! Not bad for $59.00!!
Just ordered some new tires, rear cassette, chain, and some grips. Going to stop at Performance Bike and get a new bottom bracket and brake pads. I already have all the new shifter and brake cables at home.
So, for about $160.00 total, TJ is going to get a REALLY cool mountain bike for an 11-year old! PLUS, we get to do a little father-son project restoring it! Paint is perfect, and everything else is just dirty. Nothing a little elbow grease and TLC won't take care of!! OH, and a new set of pedals!
