Agreed. It would prove that corruption does run definitely to the top. When people lose faith in a government they rebel. Who knows what would happen and to what extent? With so many people doped up on prescription and illegal drugs, that would be an interesting scenario I'd rather not see.

That would be a cool movie, huh?

Yeah, but I think it would fall under the "Horror" genre.

But I think a lot of people would pay to see it. Politicians would be scrutinized more. Maybe into actually doing the job they were elected to.

In the movie he can be Belgian. That way we'd have a reason to bomb them....

That is something that is sadly lacking from our society. I do think though, with the election of BHO and the appearance of the TeaBaggers; that people are finally becoming aware of the government we have elected, and what corrupt scumbags they really are - Republicrats and Demicans alike. Maybe change is really in the air.

Funny, it just dawned on me that the election of BHO may be the one thing that actually brings CHANGE to our system. I certianly HOPE so.

Now you're starting to get it. It's not a matter of which party you align yourself. Whatever party is the wrong party. To prove it, on this forum alone, guys from both sides have been going back and forth about right vs. left. Lib. vs. Rep. etc. Both sides have presented arguments to support their side. Both sides have been right about the other in most cases. In my book, two wrongs don't make a right. or Left. I don't see right or left. I see right and wrong. And both sides are getting it wrong...

I am neither a Republican or a Democrat. I am a Conservative. A hard-core Right-Winger, gun-toting, free-speach, flag-waving, follow-the-Constitution Conservative. The Republican party has traditionally been the home of the Conservatives, and as such, I generally support that party. Yes, I know they are a bunch of scumbags, but I think they are less sleasy than the other party (maybe I just HOPE they are less sleasy). Face it, this IS a two-party system, and you need to choose one that most closely represents your views. Hopefully we will see a re-vitalization of the Republican party out of the ashes they have left behind (hey, it's Ash Wednesday isn't it?).

                    Dom,

Actually, we are not that far apart on out viewpoints. I just tend to be a bit more pragmatic in my approach – i.e. I try to work within the system rather than without it. True change can only come from within. The key to the situation is education. If people understand what the government is, and why it exists, perhaps real change can be instituted. Government comes FROM us, not TO us. Think about this: Nancy Pelosi commandeers military jets to fly her family around the country. Is that the mark of an elitist “ruling class”? Congress passes laws for us; then exempts themselves from those laws. Is that what Thomas Jefferson had in mind?

Until WE THE PEOPLE understand that we are in control, these scumbags (R & D) will continue to dictate to us. Tyranny! By any other name, the STATISTS in charge are TYRANTS and need to be deposed.

Many of my views are conservative. I have the attitude of don't bother me and I won't bother you. Work hard for what you have or what you want. Fair wages for a fare days work, etc. However, both parties are bothering me. Class divisions, Taxes, Excess entitlement programs and intrusion into my daily life. It seems like those bad bosses that we've had to deal with at work went to Washington. They have this false sense of self importance and that they are better then those in the trenches. They seem to know what's better for us then we do. I'd like to see one dig a ditch, or care for a family on average wages and taxed to the max for earning them. Why should I have to work from January to May just to pay taxes to some entity that just wastes it? I don't mind helping people out in their time of need. That's apart of being an american. But bailing businesses out for bad behavior. That just curdles my milk. I don't have credit cards so why is my money being used to help these companies out? And even if I did, why should I pay them twice, with the bailouts and the interests they charge? Corporations should have the same constitutional rights as a dumpster behind Dennys. I suggest to all politicians in Washington to take up a little light reading for some clarity in purpose. My recommendation? The U.S. Constitution.

I agree with that, Dom. But the PTB think that you create jobs by spending money your unborn grandchildren haven't earned yet, raise taxes to punish the rich and corporations, bail out industries which need to change to be truly competitive, and give more freebies to the non-working portion of society.

You're right, those are far more important issues. But you need to get rid of every single one of the abusers to do it.

Here's an interview with someone that remembers him from his college days. I wonder why he wasn't interviewed two years ago. You don't suppose the media has an agenda, do you?

Although he is a public figure, there are a few things that we need to remember...He does a right to some level of privacy. He doesn't have to answer or allow his personal business to be subjected to public scrutiny. Remember he is a constitutional lawyer...in 1980 Obama was around 19 yrs. Old. How many mistakes or changes in life's perspectives do you think he along with everyone else has gone thru since then? I'm not going to make excuses for him. But much of this scrutiny is just absurd. Truthfully, If I was in his shoes and a bunch of perceived "nut jobs" wanted to know about every aspect of my life, I'd probably be silent at the very least. Like the great prophet Billy Idol said in a song...It's nobody's business but my own...

I agree with you to a point, but when you WANT to become the leader of the most powerful nation on the planet (or perhaps what used to be), with the power to dictate many aspects of the lives of the general public simply by Executive Order, you should be subject to very close scrutiny. If you are flipping burgers at Mickey D’s, no one will care about your past, and it is your business (unless it has something to do with the local Health Codes).

This scrutiny has been applied to every occupant of the Office since George Washington. I agree that in “The Information Age” this scrutiny may appear more intense, but it is nonetheless part of the job description. If you don’t like the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

There are things I thought when I was that age that were wrong. However, when people have queried me about them, I've gone on record to say so.

Where is there record of Obama recanting his Marxist past? or his Marxist friends? Why not publicize his college work, and publicly repudiate those things he no longer agrees with?
