Wondering what kind of gps speeds are you guys getting with the stock motor and esc and what props and batteries?

Reason is I did some quick testing with my UL-1 hull but I've got all BJ26 electronics and was surprised at my speeds today.

Stock AQ 3 Blade 34.3

Grim 38x55 33.9 GPS was near back of boat it usually looks much faster than today with no gps there.

Octura X442 42.1 MPH this one ran awesome everything stays super cool.

I want to hit 45mph but need to figure out what prop to get next?

You've got some work to do.

Im not familiar with these boats but ive read several threads on guys taking their UL-1's to the 50mph mark with the stock UL-1 motor.

I guess what I'm asking is what prop are Elam users using to get 45mph? Not sure if I should try and X445 or not?

There is some confusion here. The thread title would make Grimracer upset! The ProBoat BJ motor has a lower Kv than the UL-1 motor asn will swing a much larger prop. I run that motor in my LSO cat and can run up to an x645. The x445 won't make it break a sweat - that's the prop I run in my UL-1 with stock motor. An x642 might be perfect for you.

Setup with the UL-1 is as important as the prop, the boat must run loose but not too loose. The driveline must be free running and aligned with the motor coupler - mine was not as it came from the factory.

That's exactly the answer I was hoping for! I'll order up an X642 X445 X645 today! Any others I might try?

Hit 45 mph yesterday with the X642 I think I can pull some more out of it!

Have you tried a 45mm prop yet?
how were your temps with the X642 that got you 45mph?
also do you think your run times are a bit longer with that motor?

Yes I tried an x445 but it was slower. I run my boats 3 mins normally and nothing was hot. I ran it with the x642 for 5 mins though for the first time showing off and it was just on the high side of warm but not hot at all. No temp gun, buddies got it at his house and don't pick up the phone recently.

I run my UL-1 with proboat electrics on 6s. I use a cupped X440 or N940. I consistently get runs between 50 and 55MPH for four to five minutes long. I have had runs of about 60MPH with a M445 but this is only for one or two runs of 30-45 seconds each because the temps will go the roof if you keep running with this prop.

You will also need lipos that are rated for 30C or above to support the current draw with these props.

Since I posted this just over a year ago I had gotten into the high 40's on 4s. All my boats run on 4s these days so I try and work around that. I'm in the mid 50's with an aquacraft motor on 4s in my new boat and it's a dream to drive.
