What is the largest lipo you can fit ? I have some SMC 2c9000 pack. will they fit ? the specs (Length: 153mm; Width: 43mm; Height: 28mm )

Also what kind of runtime you getting with 3200 Lipos?

Yeah, the heat would be detrimental

Nah, they're just a stock series set up. I've only had two days with the boat so maybe my time was off. Sorry. I'll double check this weekend.

The box in the front of the boat is shallow height at the nose, 30mm. Goes to 45mm at the motor mount. The length is 145mm from nose to motor mount. The width on either side of the motor is 47mm. I haven't tested any big batteries. Just rattling off quick measurements for you.

I metered a run using two JackPower 2S 3700's in series. Moving avg speed 19MPH. Max spd 36. Stock except for the prop - aquacraft 40-52/3. Run time, 7.5 mins.

It's running great I'm really happy with my boat right now. GPS'ed 42+ tonight with an X442. Looking to buy a little more aggressive prop now. And adding the gps slowed it down noticeably.

Since the OP was looking for run time, I ran it to the cut off. The 3700 packs took 3500 MAH.

have a good one.

were these ran in parallel to get 9min runs?

If you're replying to my post saying I got 9-10 minutes, that was bad info. Two 3700 packs in series ran 7.5 minutes

Is your Low Voltage protector on your speed controller kicking in after 7.5 minutes?

Yes, I'm pretty sure it did. I could tell the boat was slowing down so I took it in. I think that's what the manual refers to as the "stutter warning system". I have not changed the stock ESC programming and I run standard 4S.

3minute runs max, and you should be running full or close to full throttle the whole time. Or else youll damage your esc cap and your cooling will not be working effectively

The manual does clearly agree with the partial throttle part. But I can't stay deep in the throttle due to my water conditions. I keep flipping it. I guess I picked the wrong hull for the lake I live on. :)

I have kept a close eye on temp (spektrum DX3S real time temp) and haven't had a problem... Yet!

check your battery temps

I thought I was operating within "normal" use - keep voltage over 2.9 per cell. Keep temperature under 130F. But I wont press my luck with hitting the Low Voltage Cutoff. It's just like driving my automobile - I don't need to actually hit the rev limiter just because I can. Thanks for the advice.

yes it will make the batteries puff after time, try to get 2 good 3min runs in off a set of 3700's and it should still have a little left in the batteries. for fe it is good not to take out more than 80% of your batteries mah- they'l last longer and run better

i usually run them till about 3.75 volts per cell- thats with no load on them(not running the boat) if they were under load they would probably be @ around 3.0-3.3 volts per cell. it takes a lot of power to push a prop thru water- its nothing like rolling on a bearing on the ground like in a rc car
