Did some prop testing with a 8xl today & an etti 125 ESC with extra caps & G3 6500 mah lipos , and was very impressed with the speeds & handling ,strut set at 7/8 deep & angle nuetral...total of 4 miles coverd on one set of lipos on glass conditions ...

1- 225 prather / SB- 53.7mph / very good off the mark / temps ok
2- octura 2047- 55.6mph /temps a little on the high side & hard to get onto plane
3-40x57 sharpened- 52mph/ temps cool

my favorite prop with this set up was a octura x445/SB , very quick off the mark & good top speed but did not have the GPS on board for that one.

4 miles!!!! WOW!!! That's great!!! I only get about 2.5 miles with my 5500's.

Lets see, 6 laps around a course is equal to 1 mile..........6x4=24 laps.........4 miles on a set of 6500 mah lipos.....must have been a good tail wind.

Good speeds though.:thumbup1:

Either get the x445 detongued or try an m445 - I GPS'd at 47 with the stock setup.

sorry guys more like 3.2 miles cause it added the walk back to the ute each time the prop was changed ..

Set the cutoff speed at 10 and that won't happen.

Guys, lets all behave like grown ups here.
I came down to this section to get some valid prop info for hydros for one of my projects and I read this ??

The OP appears genuine in his data and I have noted what he has written.
I record all of the data I can get and if this is BS then it will show up as a blip on some of my hand drawn graphs. It has not !!

Be civil and some of you who are poking the fire should know better.

Let the whole thing rest and I look forward to seeing more info from scoota.

you want to drag old BS from another thread into this one , for what reason i ask , there is no reason for it !!!!!! apart from getting the reaction u got out of me.

And i refer to Quote- were these batteries charged in only 15min.:tape:

The 225 & 2047 were SB / sharpened & balanced , the ESC is fine , have been punishing that same ESC for over a year now , i wish i could say the same for the Hydra 120s i have used ....

at the end of the day anyone can get the same sort of speeds out of there UL-1 as i did with the 8xl & balanced& sharpened props, but it all comes down to the lipos , i did some more testing with the same props but with different brands of lipos, i tested 4900 mah flight powers & 5000 mah thunder powers & found a difference of 3-5 mph compared with the hyperion lipos i dont care about the charge rate of the G3s its the unbeliveable power they put out and im sold on that fact alone & have ordered 3 more sets .

Note- the 3 different brands tested were of the same age & tested in the same water conditions & temps . and the G3s were the heaviest packs...

Sorry to labour a point were the batteries recharged after each run your thread sounds like they were not...4 miles or 3.2 on an 8XL and those 4 props and ESC with no rest time?

No ,thats why i will do some more testing ,the 225 was on fully charged batteries & i would like to test the 40x57 & 2047 on fresh packs & see if there is much of a difference in speeds & the esc was rested in between prop changes ,\

I would not use the 2047 for a long run it is to much prop for the esc it was HOT after a mile run . i would like to see how a 240 hydra goes ..
