This boat get's a 1515 1y, Hydra 240, running on 4s2p TP 2700 30c. The pics are a little out of order and I'm missing a few because I had to erase some memory from the phone/camera.

Black base coat, will get a full coat of Chrome all the way around, never seen an "all" Chrome boat, why not give a shot.

Does anyone know what the advantage of swapping out the 1521 1y for a 1521 1.5D would give me? Im NOT neccessarily looking to go 60+ mph I just feel like the 1515 1y, being a Hydro motor, is a little too much for this cat. Would the 1521 be easier on the on the components? I also want to thank Jay for helping me out on this build, the boat ran near perfect the first time in the water thanks to Jay T. Thank you..

Nice boat!! Cant beat a AM Hull with Neu power!!

The only advantage would be the 1521/1.5d's ability to prop up and go faster.. Or you could run the same prop you are running on the 1515/1Y and get a little less amp draw with a small drop in speed..

I am running a DF 32" Mono with 1521/1.D with x447/3 or x450 2 blade for racing.. A club member runs a Titan 29 mono with 1515/1Y and M445 or M545 for racing... Both boats run a 4s2p setup with a total of 9000-10000mAh/ 25-30c.... Both are running around 48-50mph.. The Titan is at the limit on prop, where as the DF could handle even more due to the 1521 size motor. After a 6 lap race the 1515 is around 135-145 deg. and the 1521 is around 105-115... I could go up to a x452 on the DF and get 50+ speeds,, but the boat does not handle race water as well at those speeds..

I believe Jay T. is running a 1521/1.5d in his AM P-Hydro.. Not sure what prop he used or speeds and temps,,, but I saw it run very well in the Carrolton race in May..

What speeds do you want? What temps are you getting on the 1515/1Y and with what props?

I sure do like the look of these SprintCat Hulls!!

Thank you!

I have tested the m440, 637, 642, S220 (literally 10 seconds with the prather, i new it was too much) and the 440/3. My issue right now is that i've only got 5400 mah total with 4s2p so the batts get a little warmer then I like. The motor temps with the 440/3 were 112, ESC was 103, and batts were 128. Temps were a bit lower with the 642 but i don't recall right off hand what they were. Now this is only after 2-3 minutes and I know those aren't high temps but for such a short run time it's too much. One more minute and temps on the motor shaft were in the high 130's. I like this boat and handling low 50's. Full throttle turns at that speed and the boat takes it like a champ. Sprint cats are notoriously GREAT handling hulls with the right setup. The big sprint cat gasser's are REALLY fun to watch at 65mph and full throttle cornering. So the low 50's is my target speed, im a sport boater but H20Camel, Jesse J and I are going to start getting a little more competitive, at least I am anyway! I would prefer 5-7 minutes of run time with lower temps, speeds low 50's. Jay has also pm'd me some suggestions as well but really this sprint cat is small in comparison to it's LARGER 34" and 40" cousins so I know I have to watch rough water handling.

I think Jay said he runs a S220 on his AR Hydro.

I believe Jay is running a 1521 1.5d in his 36'' sprint cat and his p sport hydro both on 4s2p. I think he said he has a p230 on the hydro and a p225 on the cat. I have been talking to him about the 36'' sprint cat I'm getting ready to build. I plannig on running a 1521 1.5 also. He has been very helpful with setup and parts for the build. I run a 1515 1y in my df33 and have gotten speeds in the mid 50s with a m445, but I prefer a x442 or x637/x640 which puts me right around 50 mph.

Yes, it was a p230 not 220, oops!
