Hydro & marine intruder s is my first build.it will run with a medusa 36-70-2300v2 at 4S.esc a hobbywing seaking 120A 2s-6s.so what all fe experts thinks about size of flex.0.130 or 0.150?

Save yourself some woes and go wire drive. No maintenance, no fraying and lower resistance. Plus you have a lot thinner stuffing tube coming out the hull, lower drag.

If you must go cable and you are thinking at 4S (~35k rpms) you want at least .150 if not bigger.

You are going to love that motor. I would use the .150 cable in a 3/16 brass tube (no liner).

i will go with .187" to be safe with the power.

Don't get too upset, in the video that Intruder is running an Ammo 2300 motor on 4S with a big prop, not a UL-1 motor. Still very fast, I'll be interested in the speed once it can stay on the water like a real boat.

Your MM should do better than 32 mph with the SV motor. What prop and cells are you running? Strut depth and angle? CG placement? That hull 'should' be capable of near 40 with that setup...

Brushless55
07-02-2009, 08:03 PM
Ammo 2300, I thught it was the stock motor.. ok now I feel a bit better

I am running 5200mah 30c packs, a S220 prop (43.7mm), strut is set to 0 ( better speed and performance), and COG is 25-30%

I had the strut at 3/16th then moved it to 1/8th then to 0"

I do have a second motor that I am going to try and see if I have a motor issue..

Fluid

Mine runs plenty fast with a BJ motor with the bottom of the strut 3/16" above the sponson bottoms and angled up 2 degrees at the prop end. Do this on a flat table, not "by eye".

You may try an m445 or an x642 prop, but I'm not certain about the SV motor. Another club member has a UL-1 motor in his MM for LSO racing and has GPSd it at slightly over 40 mph - although he is probably closer to 36-38 most of the time. Water conditions can make a big difference as can hull trim. But IMO 32 mph is too slow....

Brushless55
07-03-2009, 03:10 PM
Yep 32mph is to slow!

Beautiful boat! meticulous setup. I'm impressed!

96.5kmh...or 60mph with a x442 and 2S+3S=5S rhino 4900 batteries.im very happy with the boat.i think with a little more testing on strut position ,intruder can go with 3 digits number...100kmh+...:rockon2::rockon2:
