i have been looking to build a twin cat and so far i been looking at the hpr115 and the blast cat 40. anyone ever done a blast cat ? they are a bit cheaper but do they handle as good for sport use ?
thinking speeds in the 50-60mph (atleast for now)
maybe some KB45 or feiago motors to start with and then work my way up to neu\hacker\lehner when my skills are there.

all input is apritiated.

AC Models Blast Cat is very stable, loves chop and wind. A guy I ran with a few years ago had one with a mid mod zen and it ran upper 40's and cornered really well. Never seen an electric version, only gas. Sounds like an interesting build, good luck!

tnx. seems like not to many know the AC boats, so i wil most likely order a hpr 06. should be a good sport boat

Hans will be happy to hear that. Are you going to get the all glass version of the hpr06 or carbon. I got the carbon/kevlar and it is a very nice hull. Still in the build stage, if you want to see performance look on youtube. They push 100mph with these hulls.

i wil be getting the Carbon Kevlar 520 CHF one.
sendt a few mails back and forth with hanspeter now. but if you already have the hull then maybe you can help me out a little. been trying to get a good anser out of hanspeter but he seems to missunderstand every time.

Steering Hydraulic HPR 115 Alu Black Anodized 120 CHF is that rudder with the 2 hydrolic pushrods or is it just the pushrods them self ?
120 CHF seems a bit steap for only the hydrolics but thats just me lol

I am pretty sure, 90%, that is just the rams. You need all three parts 457chf. You might want the carbon plates as well, the mounts fit the 19 series lehner, and I think the 15 series neu.

good thing i was planing to power it with kb`s at first.
and this looks more and more like a project just buying all the parts without the wife getting to know what it all chost.
then add 25% tax to get it into the country.

video200
05-11-2009, 05:24 PM
how much did it chost you all in all ?
i have tryed to get hanspeter to give me a all included price. but he seems reluctandt to do so

Hanspeter doesn't do discounts.
The prices are a given fact.

never asked for a discont. only a total price. with everything i needs.
his page is lacking alot of the parts he have for sale such as the carbon plates and motor mounts.

Just tell Hans everything you want and ask for a shipping cost. Add the shipping to the total of the parts and wire the $$. In a few weeks you will be a happy camper:-)

Hmm, I didn't pay tax on the import to the US, is it different there?

Yeah I know, but u only need to add just the electronics and I think it is much bigger than hpr115.

yes it is a little different.
i can of course try and cheat the goverment. but offisialy there is 25% tax (or what you would call VAT i think) on the total price including shippment.:crying:

Yea, I think I had just over $600 US after shipping and wire fees.

so far im around the $1000 mark just for the carbon\cevlar hull, hardware, rudder, hydrolics and postage. so i might just take a weekend tripp to switserland and pick it up :)

If I could have I would have, though I don't think it would do me any good to see any of his larger fleet first hand. It would be bad:-)

These are amongst the most expensive hulls, why don't you buy a cat from Aeromarine since you are on a tight budget? The Aeromarine hulls are very good and solid and a lot cheaper.

In addition if you want an Aeromarine hull you ask Steve here and he probably can get it fr you.

I don't know if you have the electronics (motor-esc-bats) but these will cost a lot as well for a dual motor setup. I bought the Sprintcat 40 which is 35" long plus all hardware and the NEU 1527/1Y for about 700$ here from OSE

my budget is around $1500 at the moment using KB motors.
i was planing on running with KB45`s to get some exsperiance with the realy fast cats. have a few cats now that is in the +/- 45-50 mph range. but from readin on here and other foruns there is a rather big difference between 50 and 70+ mph so im just taking it slow on the speed for now.

have a few etti 150 up to 7 cell lipo that would hopfully handle a KB on 6cells

Meniscus : 2 Feigao's and 2 simple Etti escs will do the job ( 60mph plus )

these are the new motors causing some great debate here on OSE forums. Check em' out, the heli/jet/car and a few boat guys love em'..

I would use the Feigao 580L http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=fei-580-L
for a budget setup rather than the KB45. My 2 cents

Hey Douggie.

What's wrong with that electric train in your avatar ? Did the esc burn out ? ;-)

Flying Scotsman

Gerwin, that is a hillarious comment. You have to love those steam trains though. That one held the world record in 1934 for a steam locomotive at over 100 mph /160 kmh

There is a "connection" between the trains and the HPR's.
They both do run on rails :-)

If you have a friend with the HPR that runs so nice go for it!! Forget about your wife but you have to buy her something as well, put that in the budget too:laugh::beerchug:
