I know it is "cheap" but it is 1/2 the price of a Feigao and postage to me is very reasonable. I don't really need to get into the "you get what you pay for" debate.

Has anyone used one of these or seen one go ?
Would it be close to a Feigao L motor ?
I am looking at giving it 4S lipo to play with on a 37mm up to a 42mm prop in a Wild thing inspired mono that will be anything up to 29" long.

I'm open to your thoughts, experience, ideas. ???

Thanks

I have used them, and they have never failed. They run well but I'm not sure of their efficiency. When the need for a motor arises & the funds can't match the need, I'll get another for sure!

As I posted on RRR....as long as you do not over amp them they are about the same motor as many others made over there that we use. There are only so many motor manufacturers in the world and most are China.

I would replace the bearings with some good ones is about all. I would get some hybrid ceramic if I were doing one and use a thrust bearing on the motor and makes sure front and rear end caps are secure.

All the names we use are from over there...except NEU and I would not be surprised if some parts came from there as well but Steve would have to step up and confirm that.

They are a bit short (50mm) for my liking which equates to not much torque. If two is used in a small(ish) cat on 4S each with X442 then it could work, maybe...
I'd rather opt for two of these with integrated watercooling : http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5146 . It can handle (only) 75W more power...

They also come in the 56mm (http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6527) long variety

o.k So no one really dumped on the Turnigy motors i may have to get one and see if it and I can get along.

As a last question on this one. For a mono that is currently running a OSE 700SC on 4S quite nicely would this Turnigy motor be an improvement or not.

Will a 36-56- * or 540-L replace a 700SC ??

Hi Simon

I have used a Turnigy outrunner in a plane and have nothing but good things to say about it.

how much does the boat weigh ? does it run wet or loose ets?
an average oval racing setup 700 will get you to 55kmh or there abouts on 12 cell, lipo maybe a little more , a medium BL with the right prop etc should get you closer/over to 70kmh

depending on weight etc, if say basing it on an oval master 26. I would probably go for this one - 1800kv wont create an amp hungry setup and let you use a wider range of props. I think the stock supervee motor is around the same KV

Matt that is the motor I was looking at when I posted this thread, my bad for not putting that link in the OP.

Well if there is consensus that this will replace a 700 then cool.
Your example of 70km is exciting. If I get 60k (40mph) i will be well happy.
This one is to clear the pond of the Black feathered mafia prior to running my small fast buggers.

LMAO! Now that's funny.

We don't have that problem here. We have a slightly larger problem: Canadian Geese!
