do i have to change flex cable if i go brushless in mini rio?

I would. I have a wire drive as an upgrade, that flex is not very robust.

I would go to some hobby/craft store and get .047" (1/32") piano wire. You will probably need a dremmel or something similar to cut it. Then take your flex drive (or order a spare for this operation like I did) and remove the flex from the stub - soldering iron should do. Then, measure your piano wire, cut, solder and smile. You should be able to use the same coupler this way. regarding order, you should check the other threads in this minirio forum, there are motor/esc suggestions as well as this wire drive suggestion.
