Hi,

I'm looking for a size rating on a flex cable I have to replace. The cable width measures 4 mm with a pair of calipers, I don't have it in front of me but I know to order they come in .187, etc. I don't have these measurements in front of me. but am wondering if anybody could convert 4 mm to what I need. I'm also looking for a coupler to go from a 5mm shaft to the 4mm cable.

Thanks for the help! ----Rob

That's a .157 cable. OSE sell the coupler you need

they come in .130, .150, .187 and .250 (there are a couple of other odd sizes but these are the most used)
here is a good way to look at it, if the 3/16 propshaft is the same width as the flex, it's a .187 flex.

yes, I beleive the prop shaft is 4mm This is from a K&B 3.5 outboard that I converted with a bracket to run a 700 motor. I'm ordering a flex shaft from K&B and need to know the specs of the shaft to get a coupler (they don't list the size on their page) ----Rob

in the US millimeters are not used as standard measurement on most areas... you need to figure out it's size in imperial... I guess that's what you are trying to do, heheheh.
