That is cool!! Upgrades it would be a rocket with lipo. Is that the same radio as the UL? I want one.

I don't think it is Jeff. I think it is like the mini rio's probably a 27mhz

The boat has an antenna so I would bet Mr. Clark is correct.

:thumbup1:WOW nice and a straight 6 cell pack i like it!
Now i hope they made it so the battery fits in the boat very easy...I hated those bunched up mini T type battery packs!

Cute, but there are brushless, figerglass hydros out there for not much more than this.

Don't get me wrong, there is a market for this type of boat, so I will sell it. But most of you guys would get board with the AQ boat in about 5 minutes.

I like the things Jim Clark and the boys are building with the little outrunner and small ESC would be faster and more enjoyable and then add lipo for cheap and you have a rocket with a challenge.

I always wanted someone to continue with Trents passion with smaller boats...maybe not micro but close. Would he not be impressed with options and speed today! He would crap his pants...with a big grin of course.

My brother is looking for RTR for the pool, this may fit the bill.

I got better pics of that Hydro :)

Also talked to Grim. Same motor as RR2, MR. Im going to guess same esc/receiver also. NiMh battery...

It has a ride pad on the bottom and wire drive. Looks to be same coupler as the MR, just wire drive. So .047 piano wire.

This is true and the problem.

$110 for it. Then rip the electrics out to replace with brushless, receiver, etc. Next thing your another $100 into the boat... So its just an expensive hull...

I am definitely not a fan of the antenna tube placement. I don't like it up front, and I surely don't like it on the hatch.

So does anyone have any suggestions for the motor and ESC for this? I was thinking about the mustery 3000kv outrunner but I think they make a little bigger one I think 3600kv which might be better for this as it is 2+ inches longer than the micro hydro I am working on.

If you want a boat that will run in the waves the Rio will be better. For flatter water the Thunder will be a bit better.

Major newbie here. We live in a city that has a narrow lagoon that goes through our backyard. Only electric boats are allowed. Would like a hydroplane but the Miss Elams of the world are out of my budget. Would this be a good beginner boat and how fast does it go? (stock motor and/or 400) I don't need lightning speeds, but don't want to get bored quickly either. Want something that's RTR I don't need to fiddle with a lot or sink in a bunch of $$$. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
