OK, it's been a while so just a refresher. I have a 32" DF copy running a 12XL on 6S. End of the season last year, it started "surging" on it's last run and would not get up to speed. Knowing the ESC had gotten pretty hot a few times, I figured I'd replace it and give it a shot. Put in a "Mystery Pentium 200 amp" unit, but by that point, the lakes had ice on them so I tested it to make sure it functioned (along with the obligatory "piss off the wife and soak down the bathroom bathtub load test" :)) and it seemed to work just fine, no cutting out/surging, etc.

Well, today I finally got a chance to take it out. There was a nice headwind which made it perfect for a trial run (boat would blow back in minutes if it crapped out :)). Plug the batteries in and the controller does it's "beedabeep" and- POOF up in smoke and the motor just started screaming. WTH??? Way to kick off the season :(.

Does anyone have an ESC for sale or can anyone recommend something decent? If this is just a fluke, I can give another Mystery a shot, but I don't want to do that without hearing from others. Thanks.
Joe

Sweet, thanks. I guess this is a better ESC than the Mystery?

Cool, thank you. I will order one from Steven tomorrow. Just bad timing, I was about to order an EDF jet and have a gun ready to pick up tomorrow :(.
