But time is money, and Seaking warranty takes quite a bit of time in my experience(several weeks)........
Doesn't hurt to buy a new one and then have the warranty one as a backup if it happens again.

I hear you on the esc. I bought from Cris at FD and he's calling me back today to and we'll figure it out. He's given me great service and takes care of me so I'll see what he says today. Worst comes to worse I still have me stock esc and motor I can use. Before I buy a back up 180 amp esc I'm buying a hull once I figure out what I want and some more lipo's.

About the location, I wouldn't mind driving to another spot sometimes myself, I know plymouth can be a hike for some. This pond is kinda in the middle from where John and Matt are coming from tho. So whatever works I'm good with. John is a vet to say the least and he picked where the boies should go so I'll be putting them out soon.

Unfortunately my 180amp esc blew and the dealer I got it from doesn't have any more in stock. I can either put my stock motor and esc back in so I can ride behind everyone's wake. Haha.

I think we need to all meet somewhere to be determined, and set up some time to visit all possible locations and check them out and pick the one that suits our needs the best. What do you guys think? John just got here to my place in Plymouth. For the next hour or 2 him and my neighbor that has a spartan are flying their heli's, but we'll be running boats in a few hours so anyone is welcome to come over. As of now we have 5 boats that are running. So if anyone wants to come down my cell is 305-336-3555. It will be a good time so the more the merrier.

Unfortunatly my MG will be running stock, but by the next time I run I will be back in action. Thankfully Cris from Fine Design came thru for me and is warrantying my 180 esc himself so thankfully I don't have to deal with hobbywing and cris will handle that and give me one of his esc's in the meantime. As usual Cris came thru for me again. But the other boats we have here will be running as fast as they should.

So like I said, whoever can or wants to run with, come on down

Well another great day in Plymouth. Flew copters with Scott had pizza for lunch, then ran boats all ran great. Then a trip to the hobby shop and met more great guys. The weather was great. Doesn't get any better!

I have heard about the lake in Abbington as well. I went by a couple of times and no one was around. I did not want to go on anyone's property without permission. This is a more central location for all I think if that is possible. We are just trying to get some thing going in this area. As you may have read above we have run in Plymouth twice and had an awesome time and the more the merrier. I also ran for the last 2 years with my son in NH but he is so busy with his business he doesn't have much time. If we can get a half dozen guys that want to run we can switch around locations as well. Most don't mind a drive. As I see it this is the most action for this thread in years. Lets keep it alive! :banana:

Heaving, I called and talked with Norman...it was out of the blue and was not expecting my call. Even so, he was a very nice guy. Told me you guys used to have a blast together, then random people came uninvited without him being there which got too much for him. Says he is not interested in running due to time limitations (Hockey/Tuna season), but hopes to get his $5,000 RC boat finished at some point.

Again, it's the first time we talked so maybe you have better success than I did.

I cant believe it but I just fried my ESC. Had positive and neg wires reversed when I plugged batts in. A few weeks ago, swapped out ec5 connectors for 6mm bullets. Evidently on one of those late nights when soldering....got it wrong. DOH!

Anyone have a used or new spare 180amp hobbywing esc they want to sell so I can run tomorrow?

Fresh pond boat ramp . Take rt 3 SO to exit 4 over the Pine hill Through 1 set of lights take Bartlet rd on rt boat ramp is on left (dirt rd goes down hill to water) just before public beach Have fun

You can also keep going on State RD past Stop & Shop through another set of lights, as you go down a hill,you will see a pond on your RT,Bartlet RD will be on your RT (it goes around the pond) swimming beach will be on your RT,boat ramp is next RT

John good to see you guys. Yes the season is just too damn short. I feel like summer just started. Certainly I will make it down again, or I'm open to running in my area or yours if you want sometime. We are closer to each other. I have a good little spot to run.

Heaving you might be right about the woman however she didn't come back so everything is ok at least for now. I am open to running in your area it is definitely closer. Just let me know where and when. The guys from Plymouth are also willing to try different places as well. Plymouth is nice but I have to limit when I go due to traffic conditions.

Example try going North on Sunday afternoon not smart. I actually do not have a spot in my area when not in Plymouth I go to my sons house in NH. Looking forward to hearing from you. I also have RC Trucks and would like to meet Kevin sometime and see his track.

blizard, Everything is OK. It is just that the woman who lives next to the ramp came over and was complaining about the noise. You know the more boats the louder it gets! She was concerned, Scott talked with her and she understands that we have every right to do what we are doing and to try to keep the noise down as much as possible. We finished off the rest of the day without incident. Like I said everything is OK for now.

This sat John and Scott can't make it s I'd like to get as many people to show the sat after this next one coming.

But about this weekend. Whoever wants to come is very welcome. I have some work to do in the afternoon but ill spend few hours running with whoever comes out. And yeah, it's all good for us to run there. Also soon the beach will open up again but either way I think it will be better in the cove we use. Even if the lake gets a little chop going our current cove usually is glass. This last weekend is the firs time there's been any little chop. So that's all good.

Water was like glass 110 miles offshore as well, all kidding aside you could have run out at the rig! I should be in for this Saturday. Crew changing tomorrow at noon and flying home. Sorry it took so long guys! I ran today for a couple minutes in the late afternoon. Had a rudder linkage fail and had to go for a long swim to go get the boat back. The one day I bring a life jacket and no kayak!

Well I am currently on a different boat than my normal and she is on dry dock for her ten year inspection with ABS and USCG. Lets just say the section of bayou just out in front of the dock is flat as glass every day and would be perfect for SAW or even oval racing events. I have been in pain over it haha!

I have a Tacon 4074,2200 kv. How would it work in my MM ? What are you running ?

That would run fine on your MM. I think that's the size motor John had in his. Maybe a lower kv rating tho

Yup That's right Raul. Mine is a 4074 leopard 1650kv. Running 6S lipo. Blizzard if you run that motor I would recommend no more than 4s. With 6s you would be spinning that motor much too fast in my opinion. Around 49,000 rpm. You want to be around 35,000. On 4 s it would spin around 37,000. give or take a little. Some might argue but that's my experience. Good luck!

Still thinking spring here! Currently about 110 miles offshore standing by at the Holstein Spar production platform. I am working on either changing boats at my company, or even leaving to go to another company to get a schedule that has me home more, and hence able to run boats with you guys among other things.
Next hitch I am going to bring a challenger 31 hull I have on the boat with me to get all the hardware and hull stuff mounted, then put it in cold stack until I can afford the electronics!

I ran a trial run on my Sprint Cat build last weekend, and again today, gonna need to get some time in with her to get a setup. Also had a run for the Cyberstorm and the Whiplash20 today, looking forward to getting a run in with the big 45" Sniper next......Boats are ready, packs are cycled, more new packs on the way, hopefully I can hook up with some of you guys soon......
