RCPrince,

Do you know who shaped and molded this C5000 cat for MHZ? Does Ed Z does it himself or someone else?

Not sure, the video says by christo.

Gerwin Brommer

Christo = Chris Tonn
That's the owner and builder of the first boat out of the mould.
Who shaped this boat ?
The CNC-machine did !
MHZ received the original 3D software from Mystic powerboats.

By the way : Chris Tonn is THE "CT" in CT03/04 etc etc .

I think John should know already , According to Ernest @MHZ they have the exclusive license contract from Mystic to make the Boat.

A turbine version would be way way cool to own that is. But a fast electric version would probably suit the budget. :tongue_smilie:

I agree, you could get the smaller version of the hull and run a couple of 1521 NEUs...
that would be very cool to see. I think the most attractive part of the hull, besides the shape, is the real latest Bud paint job... that would be a killer!!!!

Wonder how much room Is under the hatch??? :spy:

Gerwin Brommer
03-29-2009, 11:01 AM
Just to make clear :

CT did not design the Mystic.
He only built the first boat that came out of the mold.

Mystic powerboats has asked MHZ to produce a model of their offshorecat.
Therefore they gave MHZ the original data of the hull.
That info was put into the computer, and put into the CNCmachine.
That's why the boat is looking so sharp.

How much space in the hull ? where ? between tunnel and cockpit ?
or in the sponsons ??

Stealth Assassin
03-29-2009, 01:37 PM
I was wondering the height from the tunnel floor to the top of the canopy on the 113cm boat? To cramped for a zen?

??

Yeah I figured that. I am doing the same thing now with a cat for gas at 44". The cad work Is 95% done. Prototype was built before cad work and a couple laser cut wood kits will be made asap for further testing.
I know a guy a couple states over that has stepped Into cnc work with a large enough machine to do the work.
There Is also a FE style rigger being drawn up now for a 260 zen.
I can't wait...

Do you know what the plug was cut from?

Gerwin Brommer
03-29-2009, 02:04 PM
Plugmaterial is " Cibatool" or "Renshape"

small hull : 80mm from tunnel to highest point of canopy
90mm from deepest point in sponson to deck

I'm sorry if I sound uninformed, but what is "designcloth"? 113cm is a bit long for an everyday racer isn't it?
I would like to see H&M's new 620mm Agitator S hull released soon though...

Gerwin Brommer
03-29-2009, 04:50 PM
Lomdel :

By designcloth I mean colored carbon woven cloth etc etc .
The first one sold has blue/black carboncloth in it !

By the way : i think that 99.9% of these boats will be used for SAW or PrivateFun, not for racing.

Last weekend we had a meeting in Holland, and even Ernest showed up, with his shop.
Both hulls, 185 and 113 are available.

I was surprised by the quality of the Mystic hulls.
The 113 even had a sandwich under the deck !
