What is the best prop to use for a SV27 NIMH boat. I hear about X642s and Grimracers 42x55s. Right now I'm running a 40x53 which is much better than stock. Also, I cant find a B&S x642 to save my life???

Buy a x642 and pay someone to sharpen and balance it.

I picked up a x642 that has already been worked.
Im gonna see how the boat runs, may or may not need the p220 done.

No problem Sean. I know that a P220 works well on the BJ26 but haven't heard of anyone using it on the SV27 to my knowledge. I did however receive a PM about a modded X642 that I did that registered 45 mph on a radar gun.

I run a P220. Seems like a little more top end than the 642.

I love the CF48 on my stock SV27 and jumps out of the water like a mad man!
All I did was add a different water pickup.. esc temps around the upper 90s and motor 100* to 110* tops

Yes i would have Egneg do a x642 for you you wont regret it. When i got mine back from him i got 45 on radar gun it was the best my boat ever ran. Adjusted the trim tabs a little and now i get 46 on first 2 passes and 42-44 through the run and temps are good for a 4-5 min run. Also have tried cf42,45,48 and a prather s220. The x642(45-46) has a little more top end but the s220(42-44) has more rip but you have to watch the temps with the s220. As to the cf props i think the cf45 is the best for a stock setup i get better top end than the cf48 but the cf48 gives a better hole shot but thats it less top end and higher temps and boat is harder to drive. Hope it helps. :rockon2:

This is on a stock setup and 2x2s lipos (4000-25c,4500-30c)
