The 3PK is a very good radio with lots of neat features. When you say "Spektrum" module do you mean the actual brand name "Spektrum" or is it the Futaba Spread Spectrum FASST radio??

They are wonderful! I have been using one for about 1 1/2 years now,, no problems...
I use one with FASST and it is the best transmitter I have owned.. I like it alot better than my old M11 and KO Propo that had the Spektrum added on...

The radio itself like I said, is a very good radio. Feature rich and easy to program and use. I have no expereince using any radio with the Spektrum brand plug in modules so I cannot comment on that part.

I use the Spektrum module in my HiTec SRX; for me it works great. The only problems I have had were due to a weak receiver pack. I'd recommend 5-cell, 1000 mAh Ni packs as minimum. Keep at least 4" of the antenna outside the hull in a vertical tube. Keep the receiver dry. That's about it.

i have a 3pk that I just got a FASST module for, before that was 27MHz FM. They are a great radio.

I use mine in everything from boats to traxxas slash to RC rock crawler. Very configurable and makes you look like a better driver than you realy are if you know how to work the features.

You might have problems with the Spektrum stuff around water. Save your $$ and when you can, upgrade to the FASST
