Dear World:

We, the United States of America, your top quality supplier of the ideals of liberty and democracy, would like to apologize for our 2001-2008 interruption in service. The technical fault that led to this eight-year service outage has been located, and the software responsible was replaced November 4. Early tests of the newly installed program indicate that we are now operating correctly, and we expect it to be fully functional as of January 20. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the outage. We look forward to resuming full service and hope to improve in years to come. We thank you for your patience and understanding,

Sincerely,
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Obvious to any acute observer, the software swap-out was merely a retrograde installation of old, used-up ideas.

The twist, however, is that it is now making irresponsible edicts which will cause its removal from operational status.

Cause celebre!

Dictators, despots, and other malcreants may return to their regular scheduled programming.

Paddy no one says that in real life ... it's a Hollywood gimmick. Actors say this as they shoot a gun held sideways.

I presume the earlier version of software was Microsoft based with their well documented security and upgrade issues.
Finally a Mac version, but software is obsolete in a few months without good upgrades that have been tested.

Do you mean there is more to the U.S.A. than Hollywood Chuck? So you and Jan are not actors? You are real people with a real life?

Yeppers, our desktops and servers are now running Linux, a major upgrade from our previous Windows 3.1.

You are right Jeff... the whole world's a stage...
everybody needs to clean up their act and start thinking about the future.

And you Chuck can start by cleaning up that Volvo. What do the neighbours think.

Yes Jan it is not just the U.S.A that needs to get things together. People of all nations need to have a good look at themselves and think about what life is really about.

That is my wife's car ... she had a night out with the girls. She tells me that the marks in the dust were not made by her but from one of her girlfriends as she did not have her own car. She said she felt obligated to help out her friend by letting her use the hood of her car. I told her that the next time this happens to tell her friend to move around a bit more or get others to join in to get the whole car cleaned.

Doug,

The Mac version is way more expensive to own and operate. And with only one button to click it's a lot harder to operate.

Of course, Moscow perfected One Button Voting a long time ago. It will be unveiled in the US by Executive Order shortly, I suspect.

And don't get me started on Electronic Voting again...

It's funny, the only people I ever see write this are people who have never owned or operated a Mac.

there is a mistake above, it's now the USSA, not the USA.

I gotta agree with you SJ, we need to do away with all social programs, socialism is horrible: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, most Welfare programs, Aid to assist people with special needs, when seniors hit that golden age, unless they're wealthy, toss their behinds out on the street. Shoot I don't even think I should have gotten paid while serving in the military... It should be a privilege to serve this country. Public schools should be paid schools, :sold::sarcasm1:
