Hey there, im new here and recently bought a mini rio from towerhobbies, I was shocked to find out that my rio simply did'nt out of the box. The battery was charged, the connections were perfect, every instruction was followed to the full stop yet the rio did'nt pick up the signal from the transmitter. I just wanted to tell anyone who had this same problem, that there is a fix.
In the Aquacraft transmitter there is a small pot that can be turned with a flat tip screwdriver, hold the throttle on while you "tune" the pot. when the prop spins you've hit the sweet spot. Now that the boat is running, im pretty happy with performance. I read that it's like a 50/50 chance you'll get a "bad" rio, like the leap frog affect you get when you go out of range that im sure everyone is familire with!!
