Sport hydro rudder placement ?

Which side of the hull should the rudder be installed on ? On my Forrester hydro mite and my Miss Thriftway i have the rudder mounted on the port side while a friends round nose hydro has the rudder on the starboard side. What difference would rudder location have on turning and general performance ? Regards Andris Golts.

I have rudders on either side and can’t say which is better in general.. maybe it depends on hull, but I suspect handling difference is <5% if it’s on the “wrong” side..
