Newbie here: any boaters familiar with Kansas City that can give advice?

Hello,

Picked up 3 Traxxas boats for the family over the winter and am looking to find the right body of water to play on. I live in Kansas City, Missouri, about 10 minutes south of the airport (for those that know the city). Any recommendations for a good safe place to play would be greatly appreciated.

Necro thread, but thought I'd reply in case others look. Yes, few places in kc, im from south so they'll be more that direction.

South lake in overland park, ks. 83rd and Metcalf, 2 blocks west in a neighborhood.

Pierson park. Biggest and least occupied water body imo. Great floating dock to launch, little vegetation on edges, so that's good.
