Team,
I am losing my running lake. I live in the Dearborn area .
Where is a good place to run?
Does anyone run off of Belle Isle?

There hasn't been an organized race on Belle Isle for 10+ years now (that I can recall). Last time I took a trip over there, the inland water locations weren't very pretty.

I don't race.
I'm just looking for places that people have scouted out that work well.

Team,
I was running yesterday at Newburg Lake.
No one complained.
I called the police to see if there was any rules regarding this.
They told me to call the DNR.
The DNR referred me the the ew State Police.
The State police said they knew of no law preventing me from running there.
I told them is was electric, but kind of noisy.

on the weekday, its pretty empty. On the weekends its full. I don't recommend running there on the weekends.
at the public access area, there is even a picnic table I used for setup.
Parking is a short walk, less than 1 min.
I did have some weed issues near shore. I will bring a rake next time.
I know @Shooter is in the area.

Pete and I work close to there. I'm actually at Newburg and 96. Weeds will get progressively worse over the next few weeks on that lake unfortunately. Did you see that their floating peer......floated away? It was at the east end by the damn last time I saw it.

We're temporarily without a pond right now too. Hoping for good news from the Township but waiting on lab results. That could take between a day and a life time. Who knows? We found a temporary fix in Port Huron. That's a haul from where yer at.

Y'all don't have a boat club close by? I thought MI had a bunch of clubs. I guess I'm lucky as heck I have a great club 10 miles away.

Well, three different clubs use the same pond. There's a group that doesn't race at all. A group that only races at big district events. They use the pond if they really need to get something sorted out. Then there's MMEU that puts on club races and travels when possible. This little contamination scare screwed the whole region really. Not to mention all the baseball diamonds the kids lost. Sucks.

It seems too that the vast majority of sparkies prefer to run all by themselves. Do two quick passes with their GPS and then post the video on line. I've had some tell me that going around an oval sounds like the most boring thing they can imagine. They miss all the comradery that comes from hanging out with other lunatics. Alrighty then.......That's by far the best part of the hobby to me. Without it I would quit. FE guys really are an odd group.

SE Michigan team, I found a good spot for RC Boating.
The coordinates are:
42.61685136282081, -83.37456171082398
its Gerundegut Bay in Cass lake
Public access pier with an open front that we can launch from. Relatively weed free.
Yes, I physically scouted the location.
All sports lake. No swimming area anywhere near by.
Here is a satellite view of the area:

Beautiful lake. That whole area is gorgeous. Would be really hard to keep people off the water with all the pleasure boats right there. We ran into that at Shadow lake too.
