Hi there !
has anyone rigged one of these 1/10 scale electric m/l wood hydros, and has installed all the inside working parts ?
I have built. ( first time ) one of these hydros and I am to the point of installing the motor, drive shaft , stuffing box, strut, servo rudder and I am not sure how far forward to mount the motor, and pictures of what others have done would be a great help.

Hi Ron.
I thought one of the 1/10 scale racers would have offered you some pics by now.
I don't race 1/10 scale but I have converted a static 1/10 scale boat to R/C.
It is the first pic. I like to have the ESC between the motor & the batteries in my Hydro builds.

The second pic is a 1/8 scale but the proportions are the same. ESC between the battery & the motor.
Just move things around until you get the cog in the correct position.
Make sure you have the hardware at the transom & the cowling sitting in place when working out the locations.

Cheers.

Hello! I was remembering a very good thread of yours, the one of the "Crusader".
I think you motivated me to start a construction in wood.
Regards!

Excellent work.
I take it that it runs as well as it looks?

Hi Pablo, just ran a few minutes. I have only two sets of 3S 5A batteries. It worked according to my expectations. I'm not a runner, so it's not very fast. But I saw it stable and easy to drive.

Well it's slow ... we'll improve!

Sorry man.
Just saw this.
Looks good.
But it didn't sound as if you let it run at top speed. She does have more speed in her if you let her run in a straight line for longer at full throttle.
But bear in mind, some scale boats look wrong if they run too fast.

Hello! It was the first test of the ship. I wanted to know how he would behave first. The surface of the lake was with many algae too. And I hope to perform a second test with better speeds.

Cool.
I understand.
It's good to build up to full speed in stages.
