Hey Gang,

Well folks, that’s a wrap! Thank you to all the racers, volunteers, AMB members, and sponsors who helped to make the event an overwhelming success. We kicked off racing Saturday morning and pushed hard all day knowing that the forecast for Sunday was less than desirable. With everyone’s cooperation and dedication we were able to click off a record breaking (for the AMB) 105 heats in one day! That put us just over ½ way into round 3. We started racing at 8AM sharp this morning and concluded round 3 just before 10AM. At the end of round 3 we polled the racers and they overwhelmingly voted against testing mother nature and the race was called at the end of the 3rd round. It was the right decision… The bottom dropped out just as we finished tearing down the pond and never let up.

Thanks for the kind words Mike! We have a small group of extremely dedicated individuals who pull together to make it all happen. It was nice to finally meet the 3rd member of the Michigan Cup award winning trio! lol

Yes Sir, it was great meeting you too Lamar. The ONLY regret I have about these kind of events; there isn't enough time to bench race and BS after the real racing is over! :thumbup1: Really, it's the social event that brings me back to an event! The actual racing is a close second. :beerchug:

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.... I am going to leave these right here.....

Good times!!

Another great event at the Atlanta Model Boat Club.
Very well run as usual, thanks to your whole club for putting in the hard work.

My family and I really enjoyed it, very glad we were able to rent a replacement truck at the last minute.
Happy that Jason Sims made the trip, and happy also to see so many familiar Fast Electric faces.
Proud to note that FE boats won both Open Hydro and Open Mono classes.
As previously mentioned it was definitely the fastest group of P-Sport Hydro boats ever entered at an event.....
Tyler Davis had some really amazing P-Sport speed.

Not sure if everyone realized that about half of the event entries were Fast Electric boats.
This hopefully is an indicator of good things for the future of FE racing.

Thx Jason Sims for your helping me complete 24 heats in one 12 hour day.....he helped Fede race 11 heats too,
could not have done that without his help and coaching.
OK......time to go get another nap.

Also posted as independent thread:

I was at the Atlanta Spring Nats; a wonderfully organized and fun event. I am intrigued by the seriousness of the electric community. Where can I begin to collect information on how to build a competitive hydro or mono? I'd like to build a very competitive boat for under $1500. I need to learn about the batteries and chargers, motors and speed controllers, and part resources.

My Seaducer 47" gas mono is fast; could be a little faster (will be). However, it couldn't catch the electric monos in the open mono race. And, the electric hydro against the F hydros in the open hydro race had no trouble at all at the front. Caught my attention.

Thank you.
