I just received a batch of the Mamba Monster 2200 combo packages in from CastleCreations. I wasn't planning on marketing the Mamba 2200 towards the boat crowd, so they are all going to a truck friend of mine that does nitro to electric conversions(I may try to keep one for myself if he lets me ).

First look the package is well put together. 10 gauge motor wires with the big castle bullets installed. The motor is 1.5" diameter and almost 3" long and weights 425 grams with wire and bullets. This could be a winner in boats if we can figure out a way to water cool the motor.

I know they are being used in boats with good success!! The price is right, I may have to try it myself!

nice nice ..I think I have the water jacket figured out...this setup is going in my mm on 4s and maybe even some saw runs on 5s...i'm even thinking of using the monster esc with no water cooling...it has a built in fan that comes on at 150deg I think

I just had dealer report back that a head to head test of a Feigao 580L was faster than his monster 2200 package.

What was the KV rating of the winning 580L?

Was the same battery configuration used on both motors ? Did they use 6s Lipo for both?

Same everything, except the gearing was changed to bring up the rpms to where the castle 2200 was.

I may use my Neu 1515 1.5Y (1500kv) with this controller and 6s power. A roomy mono hull should work best for good air flow.

Detox: I just ran my 1515/1.5Y Hydra240 setup on 6s1p in my TC31 with a X442. She was insane, probably 55mph easy. I've run 5s on a M645 also on this setup and speeds were at 49mph. Everything was well below 115F on both setups.
I just bought a 29" Mono, I might try this setup in there as well with a x447 on 5s and x442 on 6s probably.

If you want to run the Monster V3 esc, I would wire in another fan blowing on the case, maybe drill a couple holes in the case. Just make sure the hull is WATER TIGHT! And to my knowledge, the Monster V3 is rated at 120amp, like a Hydra120.

I just got done watercooling the finned 2200 and it works awesome....as to the esc i'm debating on using the monster or the himodel 200amp 8s I added water cooling to

thinking of starting with 4s and then trying a single 5s if I can get the single 5s lipo balanced in the hull properly
