156630Having difficulties with video. but here's the gps shot.

running 6s 5300 mah x3/440 prop timing set at 7.5 the boat did shut down, hopefully due to thermal protection it got really hot, over 200.
how do you upload a vid without posting to youtube.
yes the cooling was up graded but flex shaft could have been a little dry from previous run.
I hope I didn't burn something up.

440/3 is too much for this motor /boat .i wouldnt use it .get the stock prop balanced and sharpened and you will be in the 50`s on 6s with better temps .been there .

x440-3 is a hot (with heat) setup in a v3 cat with the 3910 motor on 6s. Those who have attempted that prop in a v3 have had a lot of post on here and other forums explaining what they have done to their boat, because it was running hot or overheating with it. They recommend dual rudder pickups and to re-route the water hose plumbing. There is a reason they are putting this on their boat and that's to try to keep it just under the bleeding edge of what you are experiencing (ESC Thermal shut off). You're ESC will be fine because it was manufactured to shut down instead of burn up, but the motor could have damage. If you want to run in the 50 mph range put a 3831 with a 1814 on 4s and you will be just fine. If you put 6s to it then I suggest to set your boat up loose (not wet) and run the x440-3 every other pass about 3/4 throttle and you will be in the low 60's and running cool enough for your stuff to survive. The OEM motor can't do this without adding some aftermarket cooling parts.

A x642 is too much on 6s for that motor as well. Unless you only want to make a couple of passes. You better run that prop on 4 or 5s max with the 3910 motor or it won't like it very much either. A x442 would be really pushing it to the maximum reliable heat temp on 6s. The stock prop is 40mm.

G-Unit, can you posit a picture of your cooling lines inside the hull? I've seen some creative hose routing from the factory and that might explain some of your heat. The x440/3 is definitely at or near the limit of what the stock boat can handle on 6S. I started running one after it was recommended to me by Rafael Lopez. I loved it, and so did my boat. My prop was professionally prepped which would make fore a more efficient prop that a DIY prop. I had only the stock cooling rudder on my blackjack at the time and while the temps were higher than my other setups, it wasn't anywhere near your 200* measurement. I would bring my boat back before the LVC, with the cell voltages around 3.7V and never had a thermal shutdown from that 120A ESC. My suggestion to you would be to dial the boat in on a less aggressive prop, get your cooling under control, then perhaps give it a try again later.

Well I plugged in the batts and apparently I killed the esc and or the motor also,
the esc lite comes on but no beeping and motor does not turn, so what's next?
can some one get me a list of a good combination of parts I need to get a reliable BJV3 running on 6s.
all help will be great, also in a affordable price range, say about 200.00 or less.

wow ,that water pickup looks like its asking for trouble . i`m sure it picks up water great but if it ever hits anything your ripping a hole in the transom .

on your last run ,did you drive it in ?if so i dont see how now it could be toast.

It most defiantly pulls water, that line is going to the motor and the rudder line feeds the esc.
on short runs everything was cool to the touch and the water was deep enough to not plug up the pickup, the only thing I need to worry about is turtles and gators

so it couldnt be driven back in eh? any smoke come out when you took the hatch off? if something burnt you could smell it right away .

Man and I thought I was hard on a boat...LOL! Do you have another motor to try with your ESC? I almost guarantee you the ESC is fine. It won't beep unless a working motor is connected to it. They are designed to go into thermal shutdown around 175° to keep from burning up. Check your motor wires and connectors because one could have came unsoldered. BTW that boat was plowing in the turns and running way too "wet" to even be thinking of running that hard for any length of time. I'm surprised it lasted 4 minutes. You'll want a big motor if you want to run like that all the time. Something like a 1515 or similar and a higher amperage ESC. Good luck with it!

ok, so after a few cocktails and a good nights sleep I hooked up another motor and it's working so back to square one.
I do have the motor from the BJ26 1500kv that ill try for now and see how it works with a x642 or the stock prop, what do you think?

1500kv is better suited for 6s anyway .642 should be a good place to start .for comparison i run a leopard 4082 1600 with a x645 prop on my pursuit and that gets me in the upper 50`s

ok so I put in the 3630 1500kv motor and with a x642 prop only got 37mph so then I tried a Grimracer prop I have and its a 420 or 421 cant really tell what the last number is but it got me to 49.7mph all temps are good, maybe all try 445 prop next and see what happens.
yes this is on 6s.
also raised the strut a bit and was running much dryer.

your on the right path .near 50 mph is a good speed for that boat ,well into the fun zone .

Run your cooling feed to the motor water jacket barb closest to the rear of the boat and then use the forward barb to send water out the side of the hull. Do what you can to rotate the jacket so the top barb is as close to the 12:00 position as the install allows. Both of these tweaks will fill the jacket with more water and provide more cooling to the motor.

So I ran a M445 prop this time on the 1500kv 6s and got 52mph before the flip all temps under 100 but that was just 3 long passes, I feel I found a happy place.:laugh:

Shoot, you're on the other side of Orlando. I'm in the Tampa area, so you're about 2hrs away, possibly more with that traffic on I-4 everyday.
