Seems like more than a few in another for sale thread want to talk cameras so lets start a thread. So got any opinions questions or want to show us your best shot? Lets have a FE photo throwdown?

Is it an open subject for the photo, or does it have to be an RC boat in the photo? My boat pictures aren't that good.

how bout since the focus of the board is RC boats lets limit it to that?

Maybe we could even make it a photo contest and the winner's photo could be used somehow in Offshore Electrics website with photo credit? and maybe a prize or prizes for the winners?
Lets see what Steve thinks

I'm in. How about we post rc fe boat pictures. The winner gets a $25.00 discount coupon to OSE. Lets figure out an alloted limit, than have a forum poll to decide the winner.

Probably should limit the number of entries per person also?
And 2nd place will get a 1/16th scale Allison motor Kit from me

My ten year old daughter wants to add this one of her driving the 31" Wild Thing I built for her, she is fast and fearless with this and has won her share of races!! I hadte too admit but she beat me when I DNF'd. She is also a better airbrush artist than me, go figure. She loves spending time in the shed with dad building or fixing or improving a boat. Give her a discount Steve you can save ME some money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's my 1 entry, It's the best "boat" shot I have.
It is a Blizzard rigger with a Graupner jet drive!

This thread died because no one can compete with your pics Jim. They are just beautiful. It's no contest.

Well, my dad taught me about photography prob 20 years ago or more. The way I learned, I had to start with the coffee can and film taped inside. You'd really be surprised the pictures you end up with (specifically the depth and vivid edges).

I haven't taken my 35mm to the pond yet. Hey Diego, we may have to try that when you try that new prop!

Otherwise, I'll have to take a digital picture of a sketch of a memory. LOL at the drunk looking stick people! Legend of Drunken Master, even.

I am not in the running for the contest. Post away guy's

I can't take credit for any of these, but here are a few with due credit to the photographers.

First image is my P hydro in the middle of a heat of open hydro.
Jerry Dunlap Photo

Second image is my SAW whiplash mid flyoff at roughly 105mph.

Third image is the prototype P Spec rigger at speed. I think it was through a cell phone camera.

Thanks Danny. I was going to submit one pic, but Jim's hydro shot was so nice I figure I didnt have a chance. Next time I'm heading down to Tidewater, I'll drop you all a message on the FEMBOT club thread and bring the boats down with me. Maybe we can meet up.

I guess the first shot will be my entry. Nice composition but it's not that sharp due to the low light (overcast with sun just breaking through the clouds at sunset).

I'd like to know what cameras and lenses people are using. I used a Canon 30D with a Canon 80-200 EF Lens.

I'm going to go with the fly off shot. You have to realize that the wake you see in the pic is from the first pass. The point of lift off isn't in the frame, neither is the point of impact. The boat covered better than 100 yards in the air.

I remember I think on this sight someone posted HOW to see what camera took a picture. I forget how to do it. Anyone remember?

You can get plugin's for your browser that shows the EXIF information which wll tell the info but a lot of times that info get's stripped from the image so it may or may not be there.

JimClark
