The Atlanta Model Boaters are proud to host the 40th Annual Spring Nationals on April 21st and 22nd, 2018. AMB member Mike Whitley attended the inaugural event in 1978 (and has a trophy to prove it). 40 years is an extremely long time for a club and an event to survive. We would like to cordially invite all our boating friends and family to come and help us celebrate this important milestone! We will be serving anniversary cake to all in attendance to help celebrate the BIG 4-0! We are also working on a few other surprises to help commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the event.

The number of available entries in each class will be adjusted based upon demand. We run this event on a "first come - first served" basis, so if you want your class to make... please enter NOW! As classes begin to fill in, we will open up additional slots until we hit the 168 heat cap. Once we reach the heat cap NO additional slots will be opened up. Classes without 3 boats entered by 3/13/18 will be scratched and those slots will be used to open up additional heats in the more popular classes.

We are offering a nice mix of Nitro, Gas, & Electric classes (something for EVERYONE). We appreciate the continued support of our event and look forward to seeing you at the pond on April 21st & 22nd, 2018!

Enter via www.RCRacingEvents.com

Thanks,
Lamar

The 40th anniversary of the Atlanta Spring Nationals! Holy cow!

The struggle is real ain't it Doug?

Guys give me crap for letting Ty run all our best boats but it frees me up to be the tool that I am. He's a pretty good driver too.

I know you guys will get more fossils but so far spec mono is the biggest class. How the heck can that be?

Not much still open. I just got the last slot in P Mono and one in P-Lim offshore. Have not raced outside local club yet, so I'll have some questions for the group later .

Yer gonna dig it. Some serious racing by some not so serious people. Fun will be had. Anyone caught not having fun may end up in the lake.

Hey Gang,

Additional slots have been opened up in a few classes that SOLD OUT early!

If you plan on racing in this event please do not procrastinate. Classes with no entries will be DROPPED to make room for additional heats of the more popular classes (and additional class offerings that have been requested by those who have already entered).

We appreciate all those who have supported this event over the years and we look forward to seeing you at the pond very soon!

Thanks,
Lamar

Hey Gang,

We have reached the 168 heat cap for the event. The slots currently showing on the www.RCRacingEvents website are the only slots we have available. A couple of classes with no entries were dropped earlier this morning and we added Open Mono and Open Hydro. There are a couple of additional classes in danger of not making the cut:

- D Mono = Only 2 entries so far
- F Hydro = Only 1 entry so far
- F Mono = Only 2 entries so far
- Open Tunnel = Only 1 entry so far

If these classes do not reach the 3 boat minimum by 3/13/18 they will be scratched and those slots will be given to SOLD OUT classes. So... If you are entered in any of the classes above phone a friend and tell them to get entered ASAP!

This is shaping up to be a FANTASTIC event!

Thanks,
Lamar

I just entered Open Mono and Open Hydro. Can you take me out of LSG Cat and Open Offshore?
The other classes should have stayed the same.

We have surpassed the 200 boat mark for the Spring Nationals! The slots currently showing on www.RCRacingEvents.com are the only slots available. There are currently 2 classes in danger of not making the cut:

- F Hydro = Only 1 entry so far
- Open Tunnel = Only 1 entry so far

If these classes do not reach the 3 boat minimum by 3/13/18 they will be scratched and those slots will be given to another class. So... If you are entered in the 2 classes above please phone a friend and tell them to get entered ASAP!

This is shaping up to be a FANTASTIC event!

We are 47 days away from the first heat of the 2018 Atlanta Spring Nationals going "on the clock". We are nearing the 225 boat mark on entries and several classes are already SOLD OUT. There are still open spots available in many classes though, so head on over to RCRacingEvents.com and join the party! We sincerely appreciate the support and look forward to seeing you all at the pond very soon!

Green? What happened to light blue? Are you still working Tom for the special light blue shirts?! Where are we at on that?

Green means boats that have not been tested yet.

Pete, Ty has something different we've never seen in the P mono. I'm actually sworn to secrecy on that.
Danny's old Animal boat has a spec setup now that Ty is going to run in offshore.
Ty's fresh Pearl just got Aztec Blue paint. That should be sick.
I have a one off Wildthing that's almost done.
I also added spray rails to the old 34" Wildthing for P mono.

Lot's of unproven stuff going to Atlanta. Those will be our first heats of 2018.

Yeah, bring the hot dogs Don. We'll roast them over an open speedo fire.

Should be a hoot. For reference.........

The last 3 record holding IMPBA Q mono will be on the water together.

Then last fall, Kevin set the P sport record. Ty was off the old record by 2 tenth I think. Then Mike set the bar even higher later that day. Add to that Tyler Gerrard who holds the NAMBA P sport record. Those heats are going to be a outrageous.

The lunatics were out there Saturday. There were 4 out. I was one of them.
Ran the stealth once then bailed. Water was probably just above freezing.

We're going to our pond tomorrow to at least pull the trigger on a couple. Supposed to be 45 and raining though.

No idea when we'll make land fall down there. We were talking about heading out about 5:30am Thursday. So maybe 6 or 7pm depending on how hard we stop for lunch. If we dash board dine and piss in a cup we could pick up some time. Getting out of Detroit before rush hour will help. Not sure if we will hit the pond Thursday at all. Early Friday for sure.

Did you ever decide if you really needed help shagg'n boats? You know you can count on us.

Did you get a room or are you commuting? Hey, are you guys doing a lunch dance again?

Geez, Spanish inquisition. I'm not fired up at all.

No lunch this year. The ladies that cooked last year are working the tower. We were unable to get anyone to step up. The retrieve boat is covered for the most part. AMB racers will fill in. Ed and I will be hanging out down south. That way we can be there early and have the place ready to rock!

Only 160 heats!! Everyone will be able loosen their boot straps a little this year.:buttrock:

We have rain threatening Sunday (50%) but it looks like it's coming in late. Lows in the upper 40s, highs in the 70s.

Loosen their boot straps? I thought we were doubling down this year and trying to hit triple digits on the heat counter by sundown Saturday!:cursing::banana::cursing:

I'm being optimistic and going with accuweather.com's forecast of 25% chance of rain on Sunday. That being said, I have about as much faith in meteorologists as I do televangelists or politicians!

Looking forward to it fellas...
