First racing session for 2018 (Jan 14th at Noon), are you ready??

Its the usual rules for pool racing, 2S for the larger Revolts, Lucas oil, pro-marines, pro-boats (offshore style boats, sub 34"). Also 45mm MAX plastic props please.

For the small mini boats, 3S Max, (no Riggers please) Recoils, mini mono's, GP1, etc.

This is not for the faint of heart, it's close quarters, tight, concrete walls and floors, and you WILL get battle scarred. DO NOT put in your pride and joy!

The flyer for the Brownsburg Duel in the pool. (Below)

Location Brownsburg High school on the west of Indianapolis.

Can't wait. Ballpark target date? I was just starring at a boat yesterday thinking it would be good for the pool races this year.

Yeah a date and time would have been useful information LOL Sorry. (I'll add it to the opening post, thank you)

Jan 14th 12pm (noon) until 3.30pm

Note - we do share the pool with scale boaters, so typically we rotate races with scale fun every 30 mins or so.

January, yikes, I was hoping I had until mid February like last year. Looks like I'd better get busy building.

Plastic props are recommended and I understand why, but is it a deal breaker if I can't find what I need by then and have to run a metal prop?

trigger

Its not deal breaker, we're an accommodating bunch. If we have a spare, we'll share.

There is another Pool event in Feb, I don't have the dates for that one yet so I'm not sure if its booked. When I know what it is I'll post it here. These are the only 2 that we run in the pool. Don't spend too much time building, certainly only bring previously scratched, dented and or........

I've got college friends that live in the area and need an excuse to drive back down there. I'm so out of my element running a boat on 2S. What size props are people typically running on something like a Revolt 30, assuming it's still on the stock kV motor?

trigger

The idea of 2s is to slow them down, we've used stock props through to props like windmills, thus us sticking to stock power and a limiting to 45mm max prop. your basic 445 should have you right in the mix with everyone else. If you can stay right side up, not hit anyone and stay in the pool, you should do good lol. Its less about racing and just more about running in the pool really. There are no prizes, just all for fun and as Mr Davis puts it, getting folks together that are like minded. 1 x 2S 5000mah lipo is usually enough for 3 mins of pool frantic madness.

Awesome event. Definitely an RC bucket list item, especially in a pool like that. Thanks to anyone and everyone who had a hand in putting this event on!

Great videos as usual trigger! It's amazing how fast the three hours went by.

fweasel, I was so happy to meet you today. It's fun to see other people get to experience this unusual event. It helps keep the passion alive during these long cold months. Hope to see you again at another event.

As I was breaking down the boats after the run and drying everything out, I realized how helpful we are to one another. The winning Mini-mono had a prop given to us from trigger after it broke in the second heat. Also Trigger lent me a 3S battery for GP-1 (Atlas Van Lines) to run in the last heat. And he encouraged me to try a 3S battery in the small Miss Geico which turned out to be a rocket ship. The super glue I brought was used by everyone lol. This is such a fun hobby and great people are in it.

Yes true, between us all we probably have just about every spare ever needed, then its just about wanting everyone to as much fun as I do when running.
