Upon reviewing several You-tube videos I noted that some had the wires from the receiver to the ESC wrapped several times around a ferrite annular ring. Is this to stop interference?

It forms an inductor and slows the edges of the ripple, especially important with a switch-node BEC. This ring should be located close to the receiver, not the ESC or BEC. I also add a small, electrolytic capacitor to the RCVR using an unused port. The combination of the inductor and capacitor makes a solid filter. The cap also really helps if you're using a high force servo or digital type. These can pull large amounts of current and glitch the RCVR.Comment

I usually remove the ferrite ring. Never noticed a difference. Except that it didn't get in the way with my wire routing anymore.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment
