Hey everyone (who remembers me)....its been a while since ive been on here.....

might as well stop by and let everyone know what ive been up to...

tho i havent been doing any RC projects, i have been doing a project of another kind....ive been working on a motored bike....

took an old schwinn stingray my little brother used to ride and stuck an 80cc motor on it...though most of it actually came from a kit i bought on ebay, there was some custom work that had to be done.....i had to buy a motor mount to fit this type of frame, and redrill it as the holes didnt line up with those on the motor....had to make a custom mount for the gas tank as well (consisting of zip-ties and duct tape)....i also had to torch the exhaust and bend it so it would clear the bottom bracket and cranks

its still not finished quite yet, but as soon as a different sproket comes in and i get a different chain (the one that came with the kit was too short, so i need to buy a longer one at a tracktor supply store and shorten it to fit)

anyway, here are some pics of what ive done so far, ill add more once more progress has been made.

its been a while since i updated this.....the bike is done...has been for a few months now....runs really well and reliably....almost always starts up on first turn......runs great until the fuels gone....besides a somewhat leaky exhaust (the coupler between the cylender head and exhaust pipe has deteriorated over time so its not completely sealed....but it doesent provide much of a proplem....besides oil stains on the front of the motor its fine....

it does around 35mph, but with a somewhat larger rear sproket (i know its usually a smaller sproket that would make it faster, but its not reaching full rpms....doesent have the torque....also a person with the same setup (same bike and everything) is hitting 40, but he has a 34t sproket, not a 27...soo.....

ill upload some pics eventually too....

I had a blue one. (Schwinn Stingray) I put a set of ape hangers on it, and it looked cooler & was more comfortable. The kid next door, I always saw him walk past my house and back again several times a day, so I gave it to him. (Yes free). Before I did, I took off the ape hangers, he later asked me if he could have them, I gave it to him too. He loves that bike! even though he still has to pedal it though.

more pics....their not current, but their a lot more recent....

the only difference between the pics of the bike then, and what it looks like now is the front tire has been replaced with a knobby one, the chain tensioners on the rear axle (it used to be a 2 person process of putting on the back wheel...one to pull the bike and another to pull the back wheel and tighten the bolts...that way the chains would be tensioned properly), and its gotten alot dirtier....oil stains as well as mud (yes, it somehow can do light mudding...i need a larger sproket on the rear wheel though....the current one is way too small...not enough torque so it takes a while to get moving....
