I had some free time today and decided to make up a gauge to adjust the struts on my Zelos 36. I got tired of screwing around with using a straight edge on the bottom of the hull and using a hex key for spacing the struts. I made this little gauge up on my mill today. Works pretty well so far.

Sell those. I'm first inline.

I wouldn't mind having one either if they are put into production.

I'll see what I can do guys. I am sure I can make a few of them. I do need to get some more aluminum stock though. I don't have enough to even make 1 more.

OK...Let us know if you are able to make anymore you want to get rid of.

Very cool Vinny. Looks like you could have yourself a nice side business. Count me in for any extras.

The weather is not looking good for this weekend. I may be able to make a few of these up providing I can locate more aluminum stock. I am going to try to get some at Lowes or Home Depot tomorrow. However, before I make any of them, I have to tell you there is a flaw in this design. You will have to pull your prop for any setting other than 5.0 and 5.5 . Smaller than 4.0 and you will have to pull the flex shaft. As the gauge slides down past the end of the strut, it will hit your prop and eventually the flex shaft, causing inaccurate adjustments. Let me know if you are still interested. If so, I will ask you cover the cost of the material and shipping. If I have the time, I wont mind making a few of them up.

I'm down for materials, shipping, and beer money. REDLINE1 made me a great gauge to set the struts even against each other, but this would be nice to eliminate the handful of rulers I use now, regardless of the prop and drive dog interference.

OK.... I will let you know when I have the material and time. Hopefully, this weekend..

I'm down with that if the measurements are true.

I don't have a cnc mill. I have to measure each step manually and set the mill accordingly. It will be as close as I can get it.

Mine came today. The measurements are very accurate considering it wasn't done by a cnc machine. Thanks!

Glad you like it. Did you test it out on the boat yet?

Not yet, I just wanted it really for field changes. I've been busy and I haven't had time to give the Z any lovin' in a while. I don't plan to mess with my struts unless they move by themselves. I'm liking my 75mph+ runs on my current setup.

I hear you about being busy. Never enough time in a day. Let me know when you try it out.
