Got this boat in on trade. I really had planned on selling it as is, hull and hardware. I liked it so much I couldn't see letting it go in the cheesy built state how they come. I was actually thinking about keeping it but after killing it over I decided it's got to go. I have two other boats I'm building that need parts more than I need this boat anyway. This boat is rtr, add your radio and batteries. If you need a spktrum receiver I can throw a sr310 in for $20 extra. Prop not included.
Here's what I have and what I've done:
Green Popeye hull
Hitec has-8775mg metal gear servo. Brand new
Voracity 80mm x 40mm 1650kv motor (to be run on a single 6s pack)
Flycolor 150a esc (same esc as a seaking 180 in a different package
Octura stainless collet
Modified servo mount to screw servo down instead of zip tie it
Added more foam for flotation, not pour in foam, black foam
Added longer carbon battery tray and Velcro strap.
Got rid of cheesy flimsy steering linkage and put a much nicer one in. Changed boot to higher quality unit, the tube the boot was affixed to just fell out when I touched it. Lol. I epoxied it into place.
3/16 (.187) heavy duty flex
Changed out the brass drive tube to a smaller diameter (.250) for less drag and got rid of the cheap thin Teflon tube that will end up causing a failure
Sharpened rudder and turn fin. Replaced nylon break away screw with a brass one.
Kintec front motor mount. If you want the stock 36mm front and rear mounts let me know.

Also, if you don't want this motor I can offer you anything that tp power sells. Just let me know and we can work that out. I have not run this boat yet, I planned on it this weekend but it rained. If you want me to run it first, I'm ok with that or I can ship it as is.

Asking $350 and split shipping with me. Or best offer. I've seen what these go for new, not much more than this one but I wouldn't run one out the box the way they come.

Ok guys, I just saw there's a couple available like this in the ose store for about $350 shipped. Well maybe my price was a little high considering that. So I lowered it $100 to $350.......but you get a better esc and motor plus all of the improvements I've made to it plus the servo is included with this one but not the artr version. Not meaning to bump this thread by any means, I just wanted to update it with a more reasonable price.

Hiya Travis, it's been awhile :tiphat:
That's a pretty nice boat, too bad I didn't see this for sale before I just picked up that king of shaves. I seen a red Popeye shovelnose not long ago that had Popeye, Bluto, olive oil & blimpie graphics on it. I thought that was pretty cool

Hey buddy how you been? Long time you right!

I'm open to offers fellas and I can change this to how you want it. I plan on running it this weekend and I'll post some video.

How much without motor & esc, with both sets of motor mounts, shipped to VA?

Any spider cracking or chips? I don't see any in the pics myself, it looks clean.

No spider cracking. It has a chip of paint missing below the turn fin I just noticed. I touched up a couple other minor spots, I have the matching paint. I can touch up the chip under the turn fin too. I buffed it out the other night and it looks great. I thought it was brand new when I first got it. There's no grease staining in the interior or anything. I'd rate it a 9/10 you won't be disappointed

Thinking about getting one is these boats. Just wondering if they make good oval racers?

From what I've read, they pack a lot of air. Might not work so well in race water but I can't confirm. I'm just sport boating with the FEs, I've got a couple gas boats for racing (which I haven't done in several years).

Thanks bud for the info. I'm new to the boating and I have a gas mono for racing and was looking for another class to run. I'm familiar with the brushless and lipo stuff cause I use to rc off road stuff
