hey guys got a awesome deal on a lehner 2240/5 hi amp 2960kv loaded . was wondering if a turnigy 180v3 can handle that motor on 6s ? was thinking about installing on a mg 29 (prolly overkill) ! any ideas or other input would be appreciated !

No way will that esc hold up.

I run a 2250 - 2603kv lehner with a 250 amp esc and I still peak the amps on 4s

That all depends on what you want to spend. But you would need to get something 250+

You'll need more than 250. That's way too many kV for 6s. It's a lot for 4s.

so whats the best setup in your opinion ? what esc and what batery size ? im new to these lehner motors . was going to run the lehner in a mg 29 with a octurra x438 prop any thoughts ?

You motor would be a good 3s motor maybe 4s but that's gonna be a hot setup. A good speed controller is the MGM 280-26

ok guys got a good deal on a 200a swordfish pro+ . can this controller handle the lehner 2240/5 on 4s 70c lipo with a 38mm prop on a 36 in cat .

That motor is 3255 kv unloaded. That esc will not be able to handle the amp.

loaded its 2960 kv whats the difference ? and how many amps do you think it will pull on the above setup ?

I would suggest a 250 amp plus esc, MGM 250 or 280.

That motor can pull North of 400A if loaded hard. However, if propped correctly it should be around 200A.
Very small prop will be required.

any suggestions on where to start on prop size tyler ?

X440/3, X445, 1816, P220 Something in the range of 40-45mm to start.
