First build: HPR135

Here we go guys, here is my first build.

I will try to share as much as possible... but probably like many of you, available time for this project is very limited so it might take some time.

HPR135
Motors: 2 x SSS 56104/1000kv
ESC: 2 x HiFEI 300A 15S
Lipos: 2 x 12S2P (8 x 2500MAH 6S)
Props: Octura x470 down sized to ~60mm.
and many other small features... (thrust bearing, voltage meters, etc.)

I'm not using rudder and shaft from HPR, found some on ebay and will try to make them fit.
Also I've built a plexiglass support, will share the plans.

Looks great! And good choice on the motors. I use sss motors now too, no difference from leopard or tp for general use. That rudder is very good too. The only thing I don't like about it is that it has a slight bit of play in the bushing. Also, you might want to reposition the control horns on the sides so they sit closer to the pivot, otherwise the steering cables will behave differently and not pull equally on both sides when the rudder is turned. Ideally, those horns should always be inline with the pivot bushing!

Nice build, looking forward to seeing this one come together. Although it's far down the road, I strongly recommend starting with octura 457 props. The 470 red. Is in another league of speed, power, list goes on. I only say this now because sometimes it can take awhile for a good prop tuner to work up a set.

And here is the work on the motor mount... going custom, not easy to get the right angle (two axis).
Having the CAD would have been way easier...

Hi François there is some ways you have to cut your props.Once I have decided the area of the prop I want to remove with a Dremel ,don't forget to be correctly protected,I make a mold using dental resin (acrilic resin).Since that its easy to duplicate the other blades. Dental wax is another fast way to make this mold of the reduced blade but requires a little more experience as the wax tends to deform but works good too.Gill (retired dentist)
