Hello,
Just finished rebuilding my dad's old rc boat and I am having an issue with prop selection. Here are the specs:
32" deep v (All original running hardware is being used circa 1982)
Leopard 1800kv BL
Seaking 180 Amp V3 ESC
4S Lipo
After rebuilding and painting my first few runs have been with an Octura 1250 prop the boat was using when it was a nitro. Up to half throttle it gets on plane and runs well but starting at half and up to 3/4 throttle it cavitates some then runs fine then cavitates some, but anything 3/4 to full is full cavitation. Tried a Octura 1255 but that cavitated worse and at lower rpm. I have an octura 1240 I'm going to try later today but it just looks to small....course I am just getting into boats so I really don't know what is correct.
With the 1250 prop I can run for about 5 minutes and the motor and esc are worm to the touch but not even close to hot. Was thinking I need to try an Octura x4 prop or x6 but not sure where to start diameter wise? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
