Hey Everyone,

It has been a while since I have really posted on many of the forums. Just a few things here and there, mainly customer and friend support. It was an interesting 2015...lots of changes in my personal life, and with the business. After going through a separation last March, I kind of spent some time away from things, and just did the minimum needed to keep things going with the boat business. I distanced my self from what was going on around me, even distanced myself from my customers and friends for a while. For that, I am sorry to you guys. I spent more time working on me, and getting myself back to being who I use to be years ago. That time has passed, and healed, and I am very happy to say, I have met someone, and I am the happiest I have ever been, and look forward to enjoying life again.

The website had a huge redo, and once that was redone and up and running, I started to feel more motivated again, and kinda got back in the saddle a little bit. While I am still working on laser cut kit design, I am also looking forward to working on making some of my sport hydroplane designs being available in fiberglass in the near future. I have been learning more and more about glass work, gel coat, gel coat colors, how not to do things, and how to create molds that will work for my own line of boats. Using other boats I have had, I worked on making molds from them, then parts/ hulls. As a lot of you know, my cowling lineup is now a gel coated cowl, instead of a pin holed epoxy cowl that I never really cared for. I am also happy to say that I am finally (and I know I have said it in the past) really working hard to get my own laser early this year. I am trying to get some things in line first, but I really want this to happen now as I feel the Chinese technology on lasers is finally getting where it needs to be so I feel like I am making an OK decision, and not buying a boat anchor!

I wanted to share some of the things I have created recently, both wood and fiberglass. So here goes. Thank you all for your continued support, friendship, and motivation. A lot of you helped me get through the tough times of the past, and I look forward to spending more time supporting your need for new designs in the future. Thanks guys and girls, Mike

Here is a 56" Seebold style tunnel that I purchased the molds for a couple years ago from a company called Performance International. I finally had a customer who really wanted one, and followed through. They are not cheap due to the size, so that has been a tough sell...and they are huge..which kills shipping! I did this one in black gel coat. He also got the Merc outboard cowling, and a decal set for the outboard cowl as well. This one is shipping out next week most likely!

I recently made this for my girlfriend. She wanted a Purple flake boat, and she loved my ice blue flake International Hobbies Starcraft CPS-20 boat that I made from my molds, so it was a no brainer! I also drew up and cut the hull decals. This will use an Amps outboard with Yamaha decaling. It has not been joined bottom to top yet, but it's gonna look really cool out on the water!

A Baja, with yellow metal flake, with black backing..Which gives it a more green look. I have been given the permission to make these for people if anyone wants one. Its a 38" long International Hobbies Baja 200ss, based off the real boat. I can make them inboard/outboard, or full outboard, as I have molds for it to be done either way. Many flake possibilities, or solid colors. Really sweet boat. This one has not been joined top to bottom yet, hence the wide lip around the outside! Pics of an original with outboard below as well.

I am easing my way back into tunnel boats as well, but not in a race manor, but specifically a sport tunnel. Old school, fun, really sweet, not like a space ship of todays race tunnels! I don't want to ever compete in the race tunnel market again. That is why Paul has my race tunnel lineup now! This one is based of the mid 1980's Seebold open cockpit Bud Light tunnel that International Hobbies made. I have changed the transom location so a K&B 7.5 lower unit will be a good choice, and will be making a one piece cowling set off of one of my original International Hobbies Seebolds to offer with the kit. I will also be making a 50" version of this boat, with a larger cowl that I will make from scratch, and a large Evinrude Formula 1 outboard cowling cover. This should fit the arrowshark, and MHZ outboard lowers. This is a hull that will end up being made fully in fiberglass, as well as the wood kit for those that want to build! Boats like this Seebold kit, and the GSX series of sport hydroplanes, as well as the 1/8th scale Winston Eagle Lobster Extreme kit, have lead to some new build technologies that I am integrating into all future kits. It will change the way you build, and make your building experience better, and your boats...more square and correct. So far, it has yielded excellent results in the build stages!

A close up of the new squaring technology..It forces the builder to make the boats sponsons at 90 degrees to the center section..no matter what..you cannot build it wrong! The GSX sport hydros take this step even further!

And of course, the GSX Series sport hydros. The GSX380, 38" kit has been out for a while now, and I am working on the GSX310 31" hull kit now. This is personally, ML Boatworks crown jewel for innovation. I am so happy with this boat, not only how it runs, but how it looks. More on the GSX380 is already posted, and on my website as well..This sums it up for now. Enjoy, Mike

Most frightening boat ride of my life was in a little 19' Starcraft that looked just like your little silver glitter flake above. Those boats did not need a 225 Merc.

Thanks Guys!

Yep Shooter, they did. It is a Starcraft actually. Funny thing, is I had a damaged one, repaired it, turned it into a plug, and will be making molds here in a few weeks more than likely. I have some pics of a nice one I owned, and will post as soon as photobucket is done being "down for maintenance." I had to sell it when I got separated, which made me sad as they are hard to come by, but luckily acquired the one I am making molds from so it's all good! Its 34" in length. I will post pics as soon as I can. Mike

I am also working on some boats for my girlfriend and I..Hers is Purple, mine is blue. The GSX310 kit is now available, and cowling is done too. See all the pics below! Mike

You just answered my question! I was going to ask if it was going to be possible to get a fiberglass version of your hydro's some day. Still racing your purple GP335 I bought from you years ago(the one you still have in your pictures) in P sport Hydro. Won First Place with it in a race in San Angelo, TX just three or so weeks ago. That boat is completely dialed in. Just charge it up and race. No work needed. My GP400 suffered in an accident on the same race day, but is going through a major strip down and repaint and refresh as we speak. I found some really cool looking metallic paint and just tested it with a black base and a red flake and can't wait to get it painted. Should be back in the water and racing again in a couple of weeks. Nice looking boats in this thread!!!
