Who knows where to get a good looking engine for my nhydro?
I've seen the wooden ones, but was hoping for something more detailed and one piece.
Thanks!

This is been a topic of discussion in our club between the guys that run scale boats. I've heard of a few different guys making resin engines but I have yet to see any product. Maybe we can talk the classic hydro guys into offering a composite and would engine kit.

There is one of PSFE members that is working on a 3d printed one he has a page on facebook. Also I think Mitch Dillard is making some motors as well as Craig Bradshaw Mitch is Coug90 OSE

Beautiful! They seem a bit heavy? 7.5oz for turbo version? Any way to make it lighter?
I may get one to see if it will work, thanks Jim!
I'm still open to other ideas...

I do not have one in my hands send Jim an email I am sure he could help you maybe there is another lighter material he could make it out of.

Jesse, sometimes a little extra weight will help if running in rough water conditions. Motor looks nice and you don't have to make it yourself. Everything can't be perfect. 7.5 oz isn't bad.

Thanks for the tip!
After a couple emails he was able to shave off one ounce.
Maybe I do a build thread.

Yep, just got my turbo Allison too and have it here in the living room. Got some paints today and have started sanding down the headers. Might get some paint on tomorrow. Pics coming soon.
What's yours going in, Jeff?

Have either one of you figured a way to lighten them yet? Also is the material used brittle at all?

It's going in a Pay N Pak

the Merlin weighs 4.4 oz
the material is hard and stiff. it doesn't seem brittle.

Don't know that much more can be done to reduce the weight.
2nd the not brittle. In fact very hard to sand!
Mine is supposed to be 6.5... Didn't check yet.
I'm putting mine in the u3 Cooper racing.
