Brian made a 1-way P-Hydro pass today of 132mph!

.12 Record was improved to 87.xxx

I upped the 1-cell Hydro record this morning to be 81.52. Consistently in the low-80s now.

I think there was a Gas Crackerbox record today as well.

Tyler has been testing setups in prep for attacking that 148 mph mark.

Final day tomorrow.

Sorry for the delay in reporting, guys. Got home from LA Tuesday afternoon and spent the day Wednesday sick with a cold.

I'm back, however, and already prepping for next season!

First, what a great weekend. Weather on Friday and Saturday was great, and even Sunday, until 11am. After that, the wind blew and we were done for the day.

As you might imagine, I'm pretty thrilled with the performance of my 1-Cell, M2-Hydro! After 3 years of trying, and lots and LOTS of help, I've finally accomplished my goal of breaking that record AND breaking 80mph!! It's been a lot of work and a lot of money, but was worth every penny!!

I've just placed an order for a new, more powerful motor, and am starting the design for another hull. Next stop, 90+! With an 87mph fast pass on the weekend, what the heck, right?

Seeing a P-Hydro go 132mph was quite a thrill! Good Grief that's fast!

Missed Jay being at the event. Hopefully next time.

Many, MANY thanks need to go out to Mark and Kim Grim. They put on a heck of an event, regardless of how many show up, and without them this would not be possible.

I'd also like to thank Tyler, Brian, and Mark for all the help and advice over the past several years. This takes a team, and they are one hell of a team!

Also thanks to Tony Heller. He's a staple at these events, without which we wouldn't likely have video to show!

In between running, I did manage to snap some pictures at the event. Here are a few of them.

Brian and Tyler hard at work.

Small Turnout at this event, but great weather.

My Radteck Mystic 25 N2-Cat and my MHZ Micro-Iceberg N1-Cat, just in case I broke the Hydro and the N2-Cat.

More pictures:

Here is my Radtek Mystic 25 N2-Cat. Made several passes in the low-70/upper-60s range. Very near, but not quite over the record.
138957

Brian Buaas' .12-Hydro (1/2A-Hydro). 89mph pass... not bad for a heat racing boat with new sponsons...
138958

The analysis and mental brainstorming never end! Brian and Tyler working out numbers on Brian's 120+mph P-Hydro!
138959

Tony getting ready for another run. Had a frustrating weekend with this boat. Awww... isn't the path to record-setting glory fun?

Horizon and Spektrum banners are perfect for supplying the needed SHADE in the hot LA Sun!!

And, even more pictures:

Two of my 1-Cell Hydro power options. Record was set using the Lehner, but I got the Neu up to 78/77mph passes. Ran out of time to play with props. They very clearly liked VERY different prop setups. Properly matching the prop to what each motor likes is going to be the key to going even faster. That's where Brian and Tyler and Mark's help is simply beyond valuable!
138962

Just one of the props on the M2-Hydro this weekend. Lehner did not like this at all. However, the Neu provided it's fastest passes with this prop.
138963

The Neu is very comfortably fitted into my M2-Hydro.
138964

After a high-speed blow-over, the ride surface on the right sponson of my N2-Cat started coming apart, ending my weekend with this boat.
138965

Final view of the weekend of racing. Wind was gusting to 20 or so from 11am on. However, we were packed up early, and even finished with dinner and filling out all of the forms by 7:30pm! Actually was able to get some sleep prior to the 19-hour drive home on Monday!
