I just heard form Joerg that Arne Hold broke the Q and overall world record with his 6 cell rigger running 238 and 239kmh which equates to 148mph and change. A big congrats to Arne and his team for smashing the record. This is from the first day at a SAW event in Munich. I expect even higher speeds to come over the weekend.

Congratulations to the German teams! It has been too long since they set a "world record".

What do you mean? Seems like most of the records (especially for cats) are being set by the germans...

Way to go Arne. Glad to see you're running hydros again. Two more days to go, wonder what the final tally will be?

November is going to be interesting.

Here are the results from Friday's runs in Munich:

The notable runs from the PDF:

Andreas Lehner in a 6S2P cat: 131mph
Florian Schonbock in a 8S2P Cat: 126mph
Michael Salffner: M1 (1 cell hydro): 78.29mph
Florian Brustkern: 3 cell hydro: 102.5
Jaro Kremser: P Hydro (1P) ; 119.78
Arne Hold: Q hydro (1P): 147.8mph +++New World Record+++

Overall, these guys set several new records in their respective classes including a new WR. And they still have two days left.

Hats off to the record setters.

WOW! Great Job, gang!

You know what I see there?

GOALS! :thumbup1:

Very impressed with the 1-cell Hydro speeds!

Here's hoping for some great conditions in November!

Here are the combined records from Friday and Saturday. I don't believe any news speeds were run on Sunday due to whitecaps on the course. Marko Hoffman ran 249kmh or 149.9mph with his 14S2P HPR 150. His back-up was not high enough to set the World Record, but close. Power levels were through the roof!

I don't know of any hydro (rigger) records set running 2P. My N2 and P boats were 1P. Tyler's hydros are all 1P.

Can't tell you about the cat or mono records.

All the Offshore and Sport Hydro records I've set over the years with LiPos have been 1P. Modern low resistance cells can work well running 1P, the weight penalty offsets any small voltage increase. Most of my oval boats run 1P, from N-2 to T.

The cat that ran 149, was it a single or a twin drive?

Wow, that site is perfect for any kind of race.

No worries if you lose one either. You can see all the way to the bottom from 20' above the water.

Markos HPR 150 "Miss Geico" is a twin drive, powered by 14S 5000mAh per motor. The boat reached average speed of 146.37mph, a fastest pass of 149.93mph and an unbelievable GPS speed of 151.18mph. Last weekend he ran it again on a "fun" meeting in Dessau with a GPS top speed of 154.1mph verified by a Holux 245 ProSport as well as a live telemetry system with GPS. I am confident the boat has without doubt the potential to run over 250km/h. By the way a guy not far away from Legg Lake also has such a "cruise missile" in his collection - might be cool if you guys also get a class to run those things.

If you are interested in Markos boat for all the guys registered on Facebook, HPR Powerboats has a Facebook fanpage:
https://www.facebook.com/hprpowerboats

In the next days there will be updates from Markos boat but I think as a boat enthusiast its worth to follow the site anyway.

regards,
Manuel

For now I will just GPS race Marko, until next year when the wife forces me to go to Germany.

Hopefully they schedule the two races as they did this year, one free weekend in between.

As for updates only ran mine one time so far back in April with 14s with a best GPS of 147mph in not so ideal water.

Brian

Ps HPR 150 on 12s 119mph on a very mild setup, best sport boat available imho,,,, turns at speeds in the 50 mph range with ease and runs in the roughest water you could imagine.
