Can the sk180 handle a leopard 4092 1480kv on 6s? I will be putting that motor motor in a jae45 Outrigger and was wondering if i would need a esc that could handle more amps or do you guys think the sk180 can do the job. The prop i am using is a1450 thanks

It might, at least for a while. Several club members used that controller with Neu 1527/1Y motors on 6S in sport hydros and as long as they did not overprop the controller worked. Neither lasted more than six months IIRC.

I would think so. I have been running that motor on 6S with a Swordfish 220. So far the largest prop has been M545, but the logged amps are under 100, except for some peaks around 110.

That's a tiny prop for that motor, the 1450 loads the motor a lot more. The JAE is a pretty big boat too. It may work, but the OP should be careful.

It's my starter prop on a 36" Ariane 2 mono. I have an M645 to try next. Expect to grow into an M547 or M450. That's if the hull remains stable in oval racing.

I run the exact motor and esc combo in a Pursuit mono with a 1914 abc. The SK seems to take 3 minute runs just fine. Right at 60-62 mph. I have no clue about how the OP's boat compares to a pursuit however. Just for good measure I removed the two little caps on the power wires and replaced them with 8 larger ones. Great esc I think, good luck.

My twin rigger is equipped with Leo's 4092 2080 on 6S with a pair of T180 (modified with cap banks and improved cooling)........3 min runtime with no issues after one year!here a link where you can see it:http://grsboats.com.br/novosite/?portfolio=grx-twin-fe-rigger

Check out Gill's thread on modifying the heat sink. There are a few mod threads that will help out if you search for them.

I have run a T180 in my genesis with a 4082 1800kv on 6S for about 2 years now. Extra cap bank helps, but really no other issues once programmed correctly for your motor.
