View Full Version : Alternative water proofing??

Am building a rigger and need to start water proofing the some parts. and am wondering what alternatives their is besides west systems that wont break the bank maybe the hardware sells,thanx for your suggestions

What "parts" do you want to waterproof? The hull, sponsons, electronics? If the hull, what kind of wood?

just the typical spruce/ply tub and sponsons that come in a boat kit

I've never done this, but seen some that use Minwax. I personally use West Systems.

There is no reason not to use epoxy. It offers more than just waterproofing. It also strengthens the hull components as well as all of the joins.

Crap...fishing again.
