So I got all my parts in from OSE today.

- Seaking 180 esc
- Leopard 4074 1650kv
- Offset rudder
- Assembled 3/16 Flex, 3/16th prop shaft
- Octura m445 prop
- Carbon Fiber and West System

BUT the Seaking 180 v3 is alot taller than expected(should of looked at the dims, but im a newb). I took the stock motor off so I could stage the esc farther back, but still not enough clearance for the canopy to close. Any advice for me?

Okay, stripped the boat of all the wood mounts other than the motor mounts. I will have to install my new motor mount back a little so the canopy doesnt hit the top of the motor. I think the esc will then fit in front....I think. That was just sitting on the bare hull to.

What boat is it you're working on? Can you post some pics?

if the 180 doesn't fit, your options are to go with the swordfish 220A which is now smaller than the old version, about half the height of the seaking 180. Or you can shave off a bit from your 180 plastic base to gain a few mm of clearance (not really worth it). Your carbon will add around 1mm overall (use a foam roller too).

Make yourself a mount like this. This is a carbon apparition

Alright, thanks alot kfxguy. So I got the Apparition stock mounts cleaned up a little more and did a little staging. With the configuration below the canopy will close and I will fabricate a esc mount like yours. Going to have to move the stuff tube hole back to. Not sure how im going to do that. I took a picture so you guys could see what im working with. Thanks for your help. 136201

Good deal. Just slot it and cover it with epoxy. Masking tape on one side to keep it from falling through

I am not sure what you mean by slot it? I am doing a carbon inlay to. Should I just make the exisiting hole longer? Or make a brand new seperate hole after I put in the carbon inlay? Thanks again for your input.
