Hi all
I was just going to try and get my impulse competitive with a couple of the other guys at the pond, but wanted to bounce my idea off you guys first:

Seaking 3060kv motor
Aquacraft 60 amp ESC
Running on 3s 5500mah 35c batt
Stock everything else - it's the latest version with the straight shaft

What do you think? Will this work?

Thanks for the help!

I'm betting that the system got hot. I've tried a 3300 kv and a 50 amp and it got warmer than I like on a 5min run, and that was with a stock prop and 11.1 35c lipo. I've used a Y fitting to split the cooling or add another input. The X 442,440.445 prop are less pitch than stock but then you've increased RPM with the motor. These should be a good starting point for dialing it in. Also will handle 50C lipo.

Oh, I could be wrong but my 50amp Aquacraft that I run 11.1 in has no problem with a 2030KV motor and a 445 prop for a 6min run, with a 26 shockwave.

You will need at least a 90a ESC for that motor on 3s

Yes!, I have to agree with you on that call. I forgot to consider it was over the 2030kv range, I'm about to test a 3300KV with 120amp esc, I've gotta stop replying to things with only a 1/2 cup of coffee in me! LOL!

Ahhh, first off I didn't know that the AQ60 was only 4s, so that ends that. I wasn't sure where to go next so thanks for the advice. I'll try it with my 120 Swordfish and see how that works out. Thanks!

I wonder if my Proboat 45amp would work with a spare AQ 2030kv I have? Did you get a decent bump in performance in yours?

The Proboat ESC's are conservatively rated but you will really be pushing it running a 45 amper.

Again I have to agree! The proboat ESC's are weak. With the AQ 2030 motor and my 50 amp AQ ESC with 11.1 50c, 5000mah in a 26 shockwave with various props I have gotten a 6min run and warm/hot battery, ESC, and motor I have gotten 33 to 38 mph. Your 60 Amp would work well with the 2030 on 11.1. With 14.8 I'm sure in the mid to high 40's! A good fun cruiser. The other SW26 has the 3300kv and the 120 hobbyking which is smaller. The swordfish 120 I use in my 26"hydro with 6S,Again waiting for this weather to break. Hey at least the water levels will be high! LOL

I just put a neu-castle 1415 2400kv motor in with a sea king 120a esc, using 50c 3s 5000mah, it woke the boat up a lot compared to stock. I'm currently using the newest shockwave (green). Temps were just under 100*f on the motor, and 130*F on the esc

Make sure to tape the front of canopy at these speeds, if not the canopy will flex on impact and break off at the hold downs! I lucked out when this happened and had the Tuperware lid on it too, if not I would have sank!

What's this Tupperware lid you speak of?

It's the inner seal under the outer hatch, typically a brownish plastic thing.

I apologize for thread jacking OP*

Ohh I guess the newest shockwave does not come with it

No worries :-)

It's the PRB4208 seal for 7.99 It doesn't come with the new shockwave and you have to reposition or pay attention to the motor cooler lines for proper fit. I use it because I'm anal but it saved me a few times so I keep using it. Others don't worry about it since they are more advanced than me. I keep experimenting with things and keep looking for ways to improve. Found one way for the SW26 to land upright 80 percent of the time but it weighs it down a bit. I've made sure to improve cooling as well. Any body with improvements please offer up we're all ears. Best of luck
