I've been asked about the rules for P Limited classes and since IMPBA does not have specs for the class we will run as per the NAMBA rule book, Section 28, pg 6:

P-Limited Approved Motors

i) The motors shall be used as shipped from the manufacturer, with the
exception of creating a drive shaft flat spot, adding water cooling, and
allowing the motor to be connected to the ESC by any means.

ii) Currently approved motors
Brand Model Description
AquaCraft AQUG7000 L36/56 7.2-18V – 6 pole brushless
AQUG7001 36-56-2030 – 6 pole brushless
AQUG7002 36-56-1800 – 6 pole brushless
Himax HB3630 1500 brushless – 6 pole brushless
ProBoat PRB3310 A3630-1500 – 6 pole brushless
PRB4017 A3630-1800 – 6 pole brushless
DYNM3835 A3630-1500kv – 6 pole brushless,
water cooled, marine motor
DYNM3830 A3630-1800kv – 6 pole brushless,
water cooled, marine motor

iii) In addition, the CD has the discretion to allow the following:
(a) An aftermarket motor that is a re-labeled and exact copy of any
approved motor.
(b) Any generational change of an approved motor, or a motor that
is used in a Ready To Run (RTR) offering from a manufacturer
that produces over 100 units of said offering, as long as there is
no more than a 5% increase in any of the following
manufacturers specifications as compared to any single
approved motor: Kv, maximum constant amperage rating,
mass, and MSRP.

Don't forget to bring your NAMBA cards as we don't have any other way to verify your membership to allow the IMPBA $10 "single event fee".

A very nice feature of the site is apparent at the 2:10 mark, the wind was blowing from the west (normal direction) about 20 mph, the racing surface was still nice & flat. :buttrock:

I have some more testing to do tonight. If this Challenger doesn't impress me tonight it's staying home. If it runs okay I'll sign up for open mono. So after tonight we'll get us Michigan tools signed up.

Terry, when you schedule, is it possible to make sure there a couple heats between P limited mono and P limited offshore? Couple guys had the batteries but need some time between heats to pull it off.

We'll put an extra buoy about 70' out between 3 and the clock. You'll go 1, 2, 3, out to the offshore buoy, then back around the entrance buoy for 4 making a left turn for 4, 5, 6. Eight laps.

Hey Terry. The only reason I haven't signed up so far is because, Wendy's life is very up and down. I have been expecting a $200 gst or Trillium cheque that has not come at the end of June so, I'm tight for funds. At month end I can get my IMPBA and sign up. I didn't want to leave it that long but, life's a beach even when yo aren't on one.
I'll get'r done. I have to show up, there are some goodies my MI friends are bringing for me to use in my boats.

Just starting cosmetics on the Cheetah cat repair and still need to repair the transom on my Whip 40. Trying to get that done today, etc, etc...

Yeah Ray, maybe we can actually have a conversation without me flitting off like a butterfly in the wind like I do to you at our race.

Terry, looks like you're going to end up mid 30's for racers and maybe 115 boats.....ish. It's the perfect count IMO. Plenty of bodies without guys trying to run a million classes.

Our kids are talking about it like I've never seen. They're practicing with intent. Landon was despondent last evening when his setup went wonky. I forget how young they are. Fred assured him that he would have it fixed by Sunday. Then my son was insistent last night that we had to pin down the right prop for his Limited Sport because he was NOT having motor heat issues in Canada. Too funny and very cool at the same time. You'll get a kick out of these two.

We're all really looking forward to it. A trip out of town and a chance to race with our sons. Priceless.

I did notice that... Not a problem. It will be nice to see you guys up here and have time to chat etc.. You'll like the sport hydros some guys from Quebec bring. All seem to be take offs from the GP boats not full sized Unlimiteds. They make their own molds and a lot of scratch building, something you are familiar with.

Money from failed ebay purchase doesn't come back until the 28th July... buggers...

Hey Terry, you got room for an empty Mean Machine hull? Jeff from WI said he might have one for me he could ship to one of you Machiganian's so you could shlep it to me :) I've already got Tom bringing my warranty Zippy pack up, don't want to ask him a gazillion favors...

I'm sick of running my beat up Geico in Spec cat so, I want to try a mean machine instead, twin out the Geico this winter with a pair of $14 motors, $20 esc's. etc... super duper ugly cheap twin build I'll call it... like all my shiznit.

What a great time fellas. The kids were talking "next year" before we even got our stuff packed up.

Something that not everyone notices when they go to a race is the orchestration. These guys have it down. Right down to scheduling man power so that they don't just bake a couple of work horses. Really well run event. I was terribly impressed with the effort and organization that went into this. We were watching fellas. We were learning too. We recognize and appreciate the effort. Thank you very much.

Special thanks to Olly. Olly won the RTR Lucas in the raffle. He said he would likely not run it. He's just not into FE. So he gave it to Ty. Apparently he has done this before too. Someday I hope Tyler remembers and has an opportunity to be as generous. This kind of generosity IS model boating and model boaters. It's the family that I'm always nagging you anti-racing guys to come be a part of. Not sure I can quite express what a great collection of humans model boat racing really attracts. You almost have to just try it and see for yourself.

Ty got up this morning while I was getting ready for work and had torn into it to start getting ready for practice this Wednesday. He had replaced the RX and was trying to bind it to his radio before I got out the door. Yeah, the kid has it bad. Not sure where he gets it from. haha So be sure to let Olly know it's going to get raced. A lot.

I want to start by saying thanks to Terry and the gang. They did a great job at hosting this race and it went off with out a hitch( expert for Mark and his new bride, Congrats you two) 2 days of deck to deck racing with some of the best heats I have seen in a long time.

Our boys were talking about next year and the classes they wanted to run. This was There first travel race and you guys made it a big hit for them, thanks you for that now they want to go with us to every race LOL.

As part of the crew from MMEU that helps put on a race I know what it take to pull off something like this and its a lot of had work thanks again and let me know the date of next years, want to put it down as soon as I can to plan around this one.

To those of you that missed this race mark it on the calendar for next as you will not find a better site, or club to put it on thaks again guys it was great more highlight after I I get my brain back where it belongs

Thanks to Terry, Randy and all the Northern Lights gang for putting on a GREAT event.

So since there are 12 members on team Canada, does each team member get the "Oneida Cup" for a month each ( like the Stanley Cup)? Just curious as to what the tradition is so next year when we win it we can follow the tradition.

What a blast! By all accounts the "Can-Am" for 2015 was a huge success, thanks again to our NLMBC members and their families for all their hard work and a huge thank you to all our guests that travelled to help make our event. A race without contestants is no race at all.

For the second year in a row "Team Canada" prevailed winning the Can-Am Cup with a total score of 12,044 to Team USA's 10,425.
