Hi Everyone,

I have been out of the RC boating for 30 years. After getting an old MRP boat out of the attic ,and seeing what's out there now ,I wanting back in...After searching
Ebay..I found an Old Dumas Scarab 38KV Kit . not built. Lucky Me  On it, I was going for more of a scale look . After all it is a big and Heavy boat.
Right now I have 2 Graupner 820 outdrives, powered by 2 Leopard 4082 brushless motors and 2 seaking 180 esc's . I am running 3 s lipo's per motor . Everything is running cool and the boat has been running good on the first two runs. I will try to post some pics. Anyone else tried this type of set up on this boat?

I am considering buying a Dumas Scarab 55 with twin AMPS outdrives but I am stuck on motor selection. How well does yours run on the Leopard 4082s? How many KVs are your motors? Would you consider hotter/larger motors if you wanted more "on the edge" performance?

Wow..a question..

Hi Crashnburn, If you still looking at this thread. I am running 2 leopards that are 2200 KV. You may want to go for a lower KV and use More battery 4 s to 6 s . Mine seems to be running pretty good right now. I am going for more of a scale look. I am running four bladed props too which makes it a little slower. I am sure if I went with 3 bladed props the Boat would go a lot faster yet. I could have gone a little bigger on the motors...My only problem was I don't think the outdrives could take it. I think you would be good on the Amps outdrivers.

A couple of these Fat 700's on 8-10s would be nice, and sound great! as an option
