I loved building this little Blaster Jim.
I've run the 1500kv motor in it. Heaps of speed with an M645 prop.
Had mine out last weekend for another play.
I'm sure yours will look spectacular with such a simple paint scheme. Sometimes there is so much more in simplicity.

Cheers.

Is it for spec hydro or 1/10th scale Jim?

I have built the frame for the hatch. It now goes all the way to the bottom of the boat and is perfectly level to the deck flange. I will glue the top on and then trim the frame back after it is glued on securely to the hatch cover. This is my second try at it first one didn't come out well so try again. This one should be a great fit.

Ok update. The cowl is almost ready to be glued on. I hhave added balsa to give a good glue surface. It is shaped and ready to glue after I seal the balsa. The hatch cover is ready for sealing and the sponsons are again covered.

Tim I used my dremel with a drum sander on it, a sanding block and a special file I inherited from my father. Never seen anything like it but it works great for kind of planing down the edges. You can kind of see it in the first picture on post 19

Progress today includes staining the stand and drilling the holes in the transom for the strut, tube for the push rod, the rudder mount and water inlet. Also drilled holes for the antenna tube mount and water outlet. Found a couple of more areas that needed a little filler so fixed that. about 10 mins of sanding and she will be ready for sealing.

Jim, if you need them, I have two touch-up sized paint guns and one larger one that you can borrow anytime.

Also, after you shoot on a good primer, you might want to look into the Auto Air Colors available at Wesco Auto Paint Supplies here in Renton. 4oz premixed bottles are only about $9.00 and it goes on very nicely with a water cleanup. Then shoot with PPG Clear...

Actually, for just WHITE paint... I usually just shoot clear over my primer... ;)

I didn't find much of anything in orig pics that were good enough to see any details. I mostly found rc race pictures on ERCU, Classic Thunder and RC Unlimiteds 1/8th scale

Been a while since I updated this thread but got to put the hardware on only problem was I needed to drill a new mounting hole for the strut bracket as I wanted to get the strut closer to the transom so the tube would go further into the strut. and I cant remember what size I taped the backing plate to mount the turn fin bracket. Guess I should have made notes on that part. But happy with the progress.
