Hi Guys,
I am on the list with Craig and West Coast Custom Boats for a new 1/10 modern hydro.

I am not planning on running in any specific clubs or by any rules but rather just for fun with my family and friends. I've been searching around OSE for some different set up options but wanted to get some more advice.

Could anyone please provide some guidance in terms of hardware, motor, esc recommendations that would allow for both quality runs and fast high performance speeds (65mph+). I don't want to go overboard in budget but would like good parts that will last and are relatively inexpensive.

I currently run the new Proboat Blackjack 29 v3 with a 2000KV motor and 120a ESC, Octura m445 S&B prop on 6S. Having great fun with it but want to add a modern hydro now to my fleet.

Thanks in advance.

as a owner of 2 of these hulls I will say that 65mph is not a good speed..way to fast for one of these hulls..i have been as fast as 61, but crashed..and basically tore a sponson and rear wings out of hull, that being said..a 40mm motor on 4s with a 48 to 50mm prop will put u in the 60s

trust me your friends will think it is cool if you are only going 50

Ok thanks for the tips guys. Sounds like 60+ isn't feasible.

Any other set up suggestions that will easily be in the 50s and maybe even hit a 60?

Thanks,
David

Scorpion /Hyperion 1900kv outrunner if you can find them. Leopard 3674 2200kv and 4s with 45-46mm prop for starters and get used to it.
which hull are you getting?

Thank you for the tips! I am getting the 2007 Boeing Dreamliner modern hydro. Can't wait to see her run :)
