Hey guys, I am the one that posted about my 1st build. Im looking to find a better motor, esc, and lipo combo.

Make-a-Wake, I found this that you posted...

Neat little guy you have there. As far as electronics on a tight budget, I would suggest:

Motor(plenty of mojo for your hull): http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17717__XK3665_B_2100KV_Brushless_Inrunner.html

ESC: (best bang for the buck, period) http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__8946__Turnigy_Marine_120A_Brushless_Boat_ESC.htm l

Lipo's (get 4 for two runs, 2 in series each run) http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9961__ZIPPY_Flightmax_5000mAh_2S1P_40C.html

Servo (waterproof) http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__28971__H_King_High_Torque_Waterproof_Analog_Serv o_40g_4_5kg_cm_0_13s_60.html

A 3/16" driveline will suffice, you can buy your drive gear here or ebay may have combos. Prop suggestion is an x442

That was for a 29" boat, should I get a different configuration for my 24"?
Im looking for long run times, and pretty fast, but nothing crazy.

Thanks all, Kyle

What boat is it you have? I've found an awesome setup for my 26" shockwave that does 50+mph and has about a 5 minute runtime draining the battery to 3.85v per cell. I choose to not go lower than that but you can.

Read this, it tell you my simple and cheap setup if it will fit in yours. If your pressed for room you can always run on 3s instead of 4s

wow that looks like an awesome and fast set up! I'm building this boat, but I scaled it up to 24". heres the link to the plans...http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=854832
That motor is a little out of my price range though. Also I'm looking for runtime over speed. Thanks for the suggestion though, I really appreciate it.

By the way the links are fixed in my first post now if you couldn't open them.

Hi, i dont remember what exact hull i suggested those parts for but a 3665 is way too big for your 24 incher.

A 2845 or 2860 Leopard in the 2500-2800kv range on 3s would do well...................or a 3650.

Hi make a wake, thanks for your response. Here is the link of the build you suggested those parts for...http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/showthread.php?49144-1st-mono-build-29-inch&p=595985#post595985

ok i found this motor...http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17724__XK2845_B_2800KV_Brushless_Inrunner.html?s trSearch=2845
what 3s lipo and esc do I use now with this motor? Also I'm not sure what receiver to use.

Thanks, I'm very new to this as you can probably tell, but I'm looking forward to building my boat.

Sorry, sometimes you can find the motors cheap. I paid 60bucks for mine.

I'd choose this 2858 over the 2845, better to have more power than less!

If you are goiung with hobbyking items, which are fine, I would suggest this ESC: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__67040__HobbyKing_50A_Boat_ESC_4A_UBEC.html

and this Lipo, or something in this range: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9500__Turnigy_3300mAh_3S_30C_Lipo_Pack.html

alright thank you, will any receiver work? I have one laying around here.
hobbyking parts are ok? I don't want to be buying junk and having to replace it.
thanks again make a wake

Looks good, but if it were my boat, and its not, i would get the Leo 2860 2730kv................... The diameter is small enough to fit but it has some greater length for more torque.

Great thank you, the max amp draw for the motor 2845 motor is around 72A. Is that too much for the esc I posted? or will it not matter because most of the time I won't be drawing that many amps?
Thanks, Kyle
