well i finally got to run my blackjack brushless with the new octura x642 that eggneg balanced and sharpened and shipped to me.

it was funny because i went to this manmade mini lake where alot of guys have been running their gas boats and they were using a radar gun to measure high speed runs and the fastest boat was an enforcer 41" that was clocked at 74 kph .

i put some 3s lipos in my blackjack and on my 3rd high speed pass i was clocked at 90 kph. these guys had never seen a blushless electric run there and they were shocked how fast it went. i must say im impressed with the stock motor and esc. it held up great. motor and esc temps were low 140s.

im going to give it a try with a pair of 4s lipos soon and see what speed it will do.

Had to be, thats nearly 56 mph. I would back off a bit and run 4S in there and prop up with perhaps m445 prop maybe. The motor and esc can handle alot but 6S has got to be spinning some high rpm's.

yes i was running a pair of 3s lipos in series.

ive got some 4s lipos coming for it so im going to try those in my blackjack as well and see what it will do.

my new castle hydra 120 esc and feigao 8xl motor arrived in the mail today too. :w00t:

im thinking about putting them in my blackjack and run it with 2 4s lipos. does anyone think this is too much for a smaller boat like the blackjack 26?

So the stock SC and motor can handle a pair of 3S lipo's? According to the ratings from Pro Boat the stock SC cant handle more than 21 volts? Running the batteries in a series would result in 22.2 volts right?

Can the stock SC handle a better motor?

Please let us know how the new SC and motor work out!

I don't have one yet but after I found this forum its coming quick!

hey dave,

glad to see you picked one up. now you need a good pair of 3s lipos and the programming card..

check out the swap shop section on here. lots of guys are selling good lipos. you might get a pair for a good deal.
